*When he went to an I.V.
house to get some belongings,
a man said, he couldn’t get
them, but he reported seeing a
greenhouse with approximately
200 marijuana plants.
*First it appeared that a
man had two hammers when
he approached a woman in
Downtown CJ at 7:47 p.m., but
they turned out to be squee-
gees. He was throwing some-
thing at people.
*For some reason, an
alarm sounded at True Value
Hardware at 7:52 p.m.
*A man with two squee-
gees was trying to wash win-
dows in Downtown CJ at 7:57
p.m., and there was some sort
of incident involving several
people who looked as though
they were going to fight.
*In rural CJ, a mother
reported her 10-year-old
daughter as a runaway person.
*On a Downtown CJ
parking lot at 9:22 p.m., a man
was trying to start a fight; tried
to pull a woman from a car;
and tried to swing something
that looked like a tomahawk.
*Officers were advised at
9:14 p.m. of an intoxicated,
belligerent, cussing bicyclist
outside a Selma business.
*Although it was deter-
mined to be unfounded as a
crime, an incident in Kerby
where a man took a child was
referred to Service to Children
& Families for resolution.
Friday, May 20
*Burglary of a new gen-
erator and a battery charger
from a locked shed on Hays
Cut-Off was reported.
*A girl, 10, who was re-
ported missing, returned home.
*James David Breedlove,
30, was cited in Downtown CJ
on a charge of driving while
suspended (DWS), and warned
for failure to reregister his vehi-
cle, which was impounded.
*Someone wearing a
hooded sweatshirt tried to steal
gasoline from Robbie’s Auto
Care Center at 11:52 p.m., but
was run off by a security guy.
*A possible intoxicated
driver northbound from Selma
was reported at 1:24 p.m.
*Following a complaint
from the 4000 block of
Takilma Road that a car with
three wheels was blocking a
driveway, it was towed.
*On Eight Dollar Road,
Michael Miller, 74, was issued
a federal citation on a charge of
driving under the influence of
an intoxicant (DUII).
*Some $750 cash, pre-
scription drugs, a digital cam-
era, a cell phone and other
items were reported missing
from a house in the 300 block
of Caves Hwy.
*A very young Cave Junc-
tion girl, who “snuck out of her
house,” was reunited with her
mother after a complainant said
that she was riding a bicycle in
the middle of the street; went
through a “Stop” sign; and was
not wearing a helmet.
*At Speedy Mart, a man
grabbed two 12-packs of beer
and ran off in front of the
owner. His phone number is on

*People who had been
drinking had a disturbance at
12:05 a.m. on Boundry Lane.
*At Jubilee Park at 1:22
a.m., a man, 19, was advised of
park hours and told to leave.
*Two boys were released
to the custody of their parents
after they banged on doors at
I.V. High School for an un-
known reason and ran toward
the football field at 1:32 a.m.
After being held at gunpoint,
the two were warned for crimi-
nal trespass and curfew.
*James Steven Towe, 29,
was cited on a charge of DWS
and driving without insurance,
and warned about impound-
ment and no brake lights at
2:09 a.m. in CJ.
*Extra patrol was con-
ducted around CJ.
*Leif T. Devin Carrier, 18,
was cited under a warrant
charging reckless driving and
failure to appear (FTA) on a
DUII charge at 4:17 a.m. on
W. River Street. He also was
charged for unauthorized use
of a motor vehicle (UUMV),
and second-degree possession
of a controlled substance/
methamphetamine. The car
was reported stolen from Flor-
ence.
*In CJ a report that kids
were hanging out of a U-Haul
trailer was found unfounded.
*In Selma, Roger C. Re-
necker, 44, was cited on a
charge of expired registration,
and warned for no insurance.
*Michael Jack Higgs, 35,
was arrested in Cave Junction
under a felony warrant charg-
ing parole violation, and first-
degree sodomy.
*Possible burglary was
suspected on Upper Deer
Creek Road after a resident
found wire cutters and wire on
a piano bench, and a partially
open door.
*Theft from two glove
compartments in unlocked
vehicles was reported on S.
Old Stage Road.
*Theft of a .38-caliber,
chrome Derringer-type hand-
gun was reported in the 5000
block of Caves Hwy.
*A “very intoxicated”
man was a traffic hazard on a
sharp curve near Lakeshore
Drive and McMullen Creek
Road at 4:45 p.m. He was de-
scribed as hostile and combat-
ive. A deputy warned him to
stay off the road.
*Along Hwy. 199 at the
south end of O’Brien, an in-
toxicated man looking for a
ride declined medical aid at
8:34 p.m.
*In Kerby at 9:06 p.m., a
vehicle was driven on the for-
mer Cabax Mill property and
through a 3-foot ditch. The
muffler was then hanging.
Sunday, May 22
*After selling a mo-
torhome, the seller said the
buyer wouldn’t leave. A re-
straining order was obtained.
*Yelling and screaming
was heard from a residence on
Schumacher Street at 12:22
a.m. A woman was heard say-
ing, “Here you are in my house
trying to stab me with a knife.”
A man was detained; then
taken to a hospital under a
peace officer’s mental hold.
*Kevin Jeffery Brittain,
38, was cited at 1:36 a.m. in
Selma under a warrant charg-
ing FTA in connection with
DUII, reckless driving, and
failure to perform the duties of
a driver.
*There was suspicion that
three boys, who left Bar-O
Ranch between O’Brien and
Gasquet, without permission
were in Selma. Residents at the
suspected house said that they
never heard of them.
*Following a complaint
from Honeybee Lane that
“many bikers” were fighting, it
was determined to be a false
report, after two deputies re-
sponded from Grants Pass.
*Animal Control was to
be notified of an incident in
O’Brien in which a girl, 13,
was taken by American Medi-
cal Response after a friend’s
dog bit one hand and her rear.
*Vandals caused a re-
ported $3,500 damage to a
home under construction on
Caves Hwy., breaking win-
dows and destroying drywall.
*A child and two adults
were in a pickup truck that
crashed at the base of Hay’s
Hill on Hwy. 199 at 5:10 p.m.
Two of those involved suffered
minor injuries.
*Some sort of disturbance
was noted in the 24000 block
of Redwood Hwy. at 6:28 p.m.
*UUMV was the topic of
a complaint in the 24000 block
of Hwy. 199 at 8:16 p.m.
*Today and during other
days in this report, a number of
reports were received of possi-
ble intoxicated and reckless
drivers. Also, a number of driv-
ers were warned for various
infractions.
Monday, May 23
*There was a complaint
that a woman with curly hair
exceeded the 5 mph speed limit
at Evergreen Elementary
School. She was to be advised.
*Subsequent to a report at
10:40 a.m. that a man threw
rocks at a woman and damaged
her car, Mark Steven Crutcher,
45, was cited and released on
charges of menacing, and sec-
ond-degree criminal mischief.
*A boy recently sus-
pended from I.V. High School
was threatening staff on a
walkie-talkie, saying that he
hates them and that “all hell
will break loose if the police
show up.” He was nowhere to
be found, but would be
“trespassed” if he showed up.
*In Selma, a girl was
missing, and a friend said that
she might have run off with
some of her brother’s friends.
*A woman on Upper Deer
Creek Road was concerned that
a transient she hired was stay-
ing on her property without
permission.
*Assault was reported by a
woman, who said that in Kerby
while she was baby-sitting, her
ex-husband pushed her down,
then grabbed her and threw her
against a wall.
*People in the 1100 block
of Lakeshore Drive had a dis-
turbance at 7:51 p.m., and one
of those involved has a no-
alcohol probation clause.
*A white car with a loud
muffler was being “raced
around” the area of Hogue
Drive/Warren Road, and a
complainant was worried about
the safety of children.
*At Redwood Hwy. and
Laurel Road, a warrant charg-
ing fourth-degree assault was
served on Michael Melilli, 28.
*An emotional woman
phoned from CJ about a wide
variety of problems.
Tuesday, May 24
*A prowler with a flash-
light was reported at 3:07 a.m.
on Sherwood Avenue.
*Despite two “hits” from
an alarm at I.V. Building Sup-
ply at 3:26 a.m., all was well.
*On Ollis Road at 5:15
a.m. a couple had a problem, as
she “had nowhere to go,” and
he wanted to stop seeing her.
*Theft of stereo equip-
ment, valued at $520, from an
unlocked car on Raymond
Street was reported.
*A fowl thief stole a
chicken from a coop on S. Old
Stage Road.
*Someone found a wallet
at Jubilee Park.
*No injuries were reported
in a two-vehicle accident on
Hwy. 199 near Sherwood Ave-
nue. Drivers were identified as
John Swenson, 29; and Chelsea
Cavin, 17.
*On Lakeshore Drive a
two-day move-out notice was
listed as a civil situation. Par-
ties were advised of options.
*A “suspicious” vehicle
was reported in the 1500 block
of Caves Hwy. at 5:18 p.m.
*At Lake Selmac a man
said that someone was bother-
ing him.
*A woman at Lake Sel-
mac said that a man spit in her
face and took her car keys.
Wednesday, May 25
*In CJ a woman said that a
man is stalking her. A report
was pending.
*Information was logged
from a woman in O’Brien who
said that she was getting away
from her husband, “who has
been isolating her from any
contact.”
*A girl was said “beyond
parental control” on Fir Drive.
*Fernando Dominguez Jr.,
33, was taken to jail from the
I.V. Substation under a warrant
charging probation violation.
*On Addison Lane a com-
plainant said that a man was
photographing his property,
and that they have a lawsuit
against him.
*Continuing vandalism
was reported on Lamont Way.
*Owners of a home on S.
Old Stage Road, the site of a
meth operation, were cleaning
it up.
*Sexual offenses involv-
ing a father and his daughter
were reported in O’Brien. It
was noted that the information
was third-hand, and that the
alleged victim has not come
forward.
