DALLIN McCLURE (Photo provided) McClure-Alexeyeva wed Dallin McClure, of Cave Junction, married Liudmillia “Milla” Alexeyeva, of Kha- barovsk, Russia, on July 6, 2004 in South Korea. For their ceremony, the couple wore traditional Korean wedding garb. The new Mrs. McClure is the daughter of Vitaly and Ga- lina Alexeyev, of Khabarovsk, on the border of Russia and China. The town is slightly north of the Korean peninsula. U.S. Army Pfc. McClure attended Illinois Valley High School and earned his GED in 2002, when he joined the Army. Dealing in Patriot missiles as his military occupational specialty, McClure was sta- tioned at Osan Air Base with Air Defense Artillery. While off-duty in Osan, he met his fiancée, who was working in a civilian capacity. They met in April 2004 on a Russian holiday known as “Men’s Day.” They dated for St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church On the Third Sunday of Lent, we will read from John about the encounter between Jesus and a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, during which she declared that the man who told her everything she had done in her life was a prophet. She told others the same, and after Jesus was with the Samaritans two days, many began to believe in him be- cause of his word. Good Shepherd Lutheran Is the season of Lent sup- posed to be a “feel good” time, or a time when we look at the way we are living? Because it is the time lead- ing to the crucifixion of Jesus, to wash away our sins, perhaps remembering this “true mean- ing” will help guide us.
