Illinois Valley News, Cave Junction, OR Wednesday, October 13, 2004 ‘Oompah’ band and contemp group set Wild River Oktoberfest marks 10th Wild River Brewing will celebrate 10 years of successful business in Grants Pass by hosting an Oktoberfest-type party on Sunday, Oct. 17. The party will run from noon to 7 p.m. the 17th; and “1994 pizza prices” will be offered from Monday, Oct. 18 through Thursday, Oct. 21. Weather permitting, all party activities will be held on the south parking lot at Wild River’s main restau- rant at 595 N.E. “E” St. in Grants Pass. In case of rain, the event will be held at the nearby Wild River Pub, 533 NE. “F” St. Rural Cave Junction residents Jerry and Bertha Miller originally opened “The Pizza Deli” in Cave Junction, and five years later a second location in Harbor, next to Brookings. The couple changed the company name to Wild River shortly before open- ing a restaurant in Grants Pass in October 1994. Wild River Pub, a full- service pub and banquet facility, opened in 1965 ‘Rogue Suspects’ will play, as will ‘Rogue Valley Sau- erkrauts.’ (Photo provided) and features an entirely nonsmoking environment in a 300-seat facility. The anniversary cele- bration on Sunday the 17th, will feature a Ger- man-style in keeping with the Oktoberfest theme. A Wild River beer garden will feature the brewery’s popular “Oktoberfest Bier,” as well as other se- lections from the firm’s brewery. There will be German- style “oompah” music by “Rogue Valley Sauer- krauts, a 16-piece band, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and from 5 to 7 p.m. “Rogue Suspects” will perform contemporary, original and popular music from 3 to 4:45 p.m. Children’s activities will feature “Calico the Clown, who will provide face-painting, balloon art, storytelling and some magic.
