*Sometime in the last
three years thieves in Texas
stole his identity, a man said.
He was advised to contact the
police in the state where the
crimes have taken place.
*A business owner in the
100 block of S. Redwood
Hwy. told police he caught a
shoplifter on videotape.
*On Finch Road, a
woman said someone had
fired shots at her and threat-
ened to come to her house
and shoot her there.
*The neighbors were
standing on his property yell-
ing obscenities and threaten-
ing his wife, a man on Holton
Creek Road said.
Wednesday, July 28
*Afraid that there would
be trouble when an intoxi-
cated man came home, a
woman on Caves Hwy. asked
for assistance. She was ad-
vised to find another place to
spend the night.
*A cash register and wall
safe were taken from a busi-
ness in the 33000 block of
Redwood Hwy.
*Six or seven horses
were reported on the side of
the road near Hays Hill.
*Two intoxicated tran-
sients were rousted from in
front of a business on N. Red-
wood Hwy. and told to move
along around 1 p.m.
*Edward Steven Bern-
hoft, 34, was cited to appear
on a charge of third-degree
theft after an incident at Shop
Smart.
*An alarm sounded at
Illinois Valley High School at
2:39 p.m.

eighteen months to
live but is having
pain. How can she
get
on
hospice
care?”
Answer: The guideline
for most insurance com-
panies to cover hospice
care is a six month prog-
nosis (life expectancy).
There are still some
things your friend can do
right now. First and most
important is to let their
doctor know that the pain
is not being controlled
and ask for an evalua-
tion. Second, any pain
medication ordered by
the doctor needs to be
taken regularly and ac-
cording to the directions.
Finally, you can help her
prepare for the time
when she will need hos-
pice care.

gravesite on Tycer Crossing
Road, a deputy determined it
to be a pile of rocks.
*On Illinois River Road
at Six Mile Campground, two
men who had been drinking
got into a fight, and one came
away with a wounded eye.
No crime was committed, as
a deputy determined the inci-
dent was the result of “mutual
combat.”
Thursday, July 29
*Around 12:30 a.m. in
Downtown CJ, some young
miscreants dragged lumber or
barricades onto the highway,
nearly causing an accident, an
eyewitness said.

lation charge and lodged in
county jail.

a woman found her dog hung
