MAKING A SPLASH - A luau fund-raiser, sponsored by Cave Junction Pool Commit-
tee, was held Saturday, Aug. 14 at the pool on E. River Street. The event included
Hawaiian kabobs, fruit salad, sliced carrots, green salad, rice pilaf, desserts, and
colorful punches. There also was a silent auction, and some of the attendees actu-
ally went swimming.
Chamber sets
auction date,
Yule program
Two special events are
being planned by Illinois
Valley Chamber of Com-
merce.
Chamber directors
have set Nov. 20 for the
annual auction and a gen-
eral meeting. It is hoped
that there will again be
wine and beer tasting at the
event in Wild River Brew-
ing & Pizza Co.
Directors also set Dec.
4 as the date for a Christ-
mas gathering at the Com-
munity Christmas Tree on
the lot between Junction
Inn and Pizza Pit.
There will not be a
Christmas Parade this year.
Last year’s parade was
hampered by fluctuating
weather patterns, and di-
rectors have chosen to
have a holiday gathering
with caroling instead.
