ILLINOIS VALLEY FIRE DISTRICT
NEW FIRE STATION DESIGN-BUILD
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project is for the design and construc-
tion of a new fire station (approximately
7,000 square feet) along with related site
improvements. The building will be a pre-
engineered metal building constructed on a
reinforced concrete foundation. The project
site is on the Redwood Highway (U.S. 199)
in Selma, Oregon.
Proposers responding to this request will be
evaluated on several factors, including but not
limited to, experience with design/build projects,
experience constructing pre-engineered metal
buildings, proposed design and construction
personnel, financial capacity, and references.
RFQ packets will be available after June 25,
20045 at the Fire District office.

Sealed Statements of Qualifications must be
submitted to the District by 3:00 p.m. July 16,
2004 at the above address. SOQ’s received
after the specified time and date will not be ac-
cepted. The SOQ’s will be reviewed and a list of
three (or four in the case of a tie) qualified firms
or teams will be established. The District will
invite those firms to submit a formal proposal
for the project in compliance with the require-
ments and schedule described in the solicitation
document. This project is a public work and is
subject to prevailing wage rates as required by
Oregon Revised Statues (ORS) 279.348 to
279.380. The Fire District Board of Directors
has authorized the Design-Build contracting
procedure, pursuant to ORS 279.015(2) and the
Oregon Administrative Rules for design-build
contracting (OAR 137-040-0560).
The Illinois Valley Fire District reserves the right
to reject any and all SOQ’s not in compliance
with the prescribed procedures and require-
ments, reject any and all proposals upon the
finding that it is in the public interest to do so,
and waive any and all informalities.
