pastor Wayne Vineyard,
76, of Cave Junction, died
Sunday, May 23, 2004 at
his home.
A memorial service
was held at Living Word
Fellowship Church in Cave
Junction on Saturday, May
29. Visitation was at Illi-
nois Valley Funeral Home.
Burial took place in
Conejo Mountain Memo-
rial Park in Camerillo,
Calif.
Mr. Vineyard was born
on Jan. 9, 1928 in Lake-
view, Texas. He moved to
Southern California in
1944. He married Betty
(Bickerstaff) Vineyard on
March 26, 1948. He was a
World War II U.S. Navy
veteran, and he retired
from Civil Service at Pt.
Mugu Missile Base in Ox-
nard, Calif.
He and his wife moved
to Oregon in 1980. After
moving to Cave Junction
he became a building con-
tractor, as well as a pastor,
for 23 years. He was
founding pastor of Living
Word Fellowship Church
in Cave Junction and led it
until his death. He loved to
hunt and fish, but more
important to him was the
word of God.
He is survived by his
wife, Betty Vineyard, of
Gary McClintick, 60,
of Cave Junction, died
Sunday, May 23, 2004 in
San Bernardino, Calif.
A memorial service
was held on Tuesday, June
1 at Community Bible
Church in Cave Junction.
Arrangements were made
through Illinois Valley
Funeral Home. Church
member Charles McDon-
ald officiated.
Mr. McClintick was
born Dec. 6, 1943 in Long
Beach, Calif. He attended
Kerby grade schools and
Illinois Valley High
School, graduating in
1961. He was a U.S. Air
Force veteran and a mem-
ber of Community Bible
Church.
He is survived by his
wife, Donna McClintick,
of Cave Junction; his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
McClintick, Cave Junc-
tion; a daughter, Marcy
McClintick, of Medford; a
son, Mac Mclintick, of
Eugene; a sister, Marlene
DeJarnatt, of Treemonton,
Utah; and one grandchild.
Bobbie Dykeman
Cave Junction resident
Bobbie Dykeman, 63, died
at her home Wednesday,
May 19, 2004.
A memorial service
will be held in July. South-
ern Oregon Cremation Ser-
vices is in charge of ar-
rangements.
Mrs. Dykeman was
born on Sept. 8, 1940 in
Casper, Wyo. In 1963 she
moved to Oregon, and
three years later she moved
to Illinois Valley.
In 1950 at Fort Ben-
ton, Mont., she married
Jim Dykeman. They later
divorced, but remarried in
1989 in Grants Pass. She
lived for some time in
Greece, but spent most of
her life in Illinois Valley.
She was a member of
Selma Grange. She was
athletic, and during her
young years loved baseball
and skating. She enjoyed
working with the grange;
painting, and sewing.
Survivors are her hus-
band, James Dykeman,
Cave Junction; a daughter,
Rebecca Westmore, of Du-
vall, Wash.; a son, Matt
Benjamin, of Fairfield,
Conn.; and four grandchil-
dren.
James F. Thomas
Cave Junction resident
James F. Thomas, 64, died
on Saturday, May 29, 2004
at Three Rivers Commu-
nity Hospital.
Arrangements were
made with Grants Pass
Funeral Alternatives. Fu-
neral service will be held
Friday, June 4 at 11 a.m. at
Laurel Cemetery in Cave
Junction. Viewing will
precede the service in the
Laurel Cemetery chapel at
10:30 a.m. Military honors
and interment will follow
the service.
Mr. Thomas was born
on Sept. 7, 1939 in Man-
gum, Okla. to James and
Ola Mae (Turner) Thomas.
He grew up in Santa Paula,
Calif., before entering the
U.S. Army. He served
eight years in the Army
Reserves, then went to
work as an environmental
technician at Amplica and
Semtec in Calif. After
moving to Cave Junction,
he worked at Linton’s until
his health forced him to
retire.
He married Bonnie
Louise Osborne in Ven-
tura, Calif. on Feb. 8,
1960. They moved to Cave
Junction in 1995. He en-
joyed bowling and had
previously bowled in a
league. He also enjoyed
barbecues with friends and
spending time with his
family.
Survivors include his
wife, Louise Thomas of
Cave Junction; a son,
James Brennan of Mid-
land, Texas; three daugh-
ters, Tina Palmer of CJ,
Terri Thomas of CJ, and
Tanya Thomas of Santa
Barbara, Calif.; two sisters,
Jo Perry of Ventura, Calif.,
and Sandra McMillan of
Santa Paula, Calif.; 8
grandchildren; and 7 great-
grandchildren.
James was preceded in
death by three brothers and
two sisters.
Memorial contribu-
tions may be made to the
