Honored were Oregon State Police Trooper Burrell Baucom; and county sheriff’s of- fice members Emmett J. Blackman, Alice Moran, Glenn Allen, Marvin R. Brewster and Tom Rice. The ceremony included a 21-gun salute. Speakers included Sheriff Dave Daniel and OSP Lt. Tanya Henderson. Sher- iff’s Lt. They found “more of the same chemicals used to manu- facture meth.” It is be- lieved that the lab had pro- duced several ounces of meth during three or four times of operation. Rural Grants Pass resi- dent Darren L. Dailey, 42, was arrested on metham- phetamine charges after a search warrant was served at 6582 Rogue River Hwy. by members of the Jose- phine Interagency Narcot- ics Team, said Sgt. Ken Selig of Josephine County Sheriff’s Office. Dailey, who was taken to county jail in the city of Grants Pass, was charged with manufacturing, pos- session and delivery of a controlled sub- stance/methamphetamine; and possession of a precur- sor substance/meth. Selig said that officers seized various toxic and hazardous chemicals used to manufacture meth. The meeting, spon- sored by the U.S. Forest Service, will begin at 7 p.m. at the shooting site. Those unfamiliar with the location can meet Ranger Pam Bode at the forest service office in Cave Junction at 6:30 p.m. and caravan to the site. Bode said that some residents are concerned that shooting in the area is unsafe. Supportive and opposing opinions will be heard, she said. With that in mind, the Cycle Oregon community organizer, Tara Corbin, will present a slide show and answer questions dur- ing a public meeting on Friday, May 21. The infor- mal gathering will be held at SCEC, the former Selma Elementary School, begin- ning at 6:30 p.m. SCEC will host Cycle Oregon in the way of en- tertainment, arts-and-crafts sales, site preparation and clean-up, and portering for bicyclists. The get-together on Friday is designed to inform I.V. residents about the visit.
