Valentine began offer- ing classes seven years ago to provide an opportunity for people to sing spiritu- ally uplifting music outside the context of a church choir. In the process, she helps singers improve their music reading skills and increase their vocal power and range. No refund for badly defaced 5¢ containers Got heavily damaged beer or soda containers? A new law (SB 926) allows beverage dealers to refuse a container if the damage is so severe the brand cannot be identified, said Oregon Liquor Con- trol Commission. The amendment to Oregon’s Bottle Bill (ORS 459A.715) became effec- tive Jan. 1. It was added to the section that allows dealers to refuse to accept more than 144 containers a day from a single cus- tomer, or containers that contain a contaminated substance.
