Junction Avenue, a woman said. *In the 300 block of Hamilton Avenue at 7:22 a.m., a woman re- ported a car stereo stolen from an unlocked vehicle. *Someone stole a 10-foot- wide metal gate from the bottom of his driveway, a man on Reeves Creek Road said. *A “pale, scruffy-looking man” was seen with a backpack before he left his vehicle on Lake- shore Drive near Dryden Road to walk down a road. When he reap- peared, he had no backpack. The complainant was concerned because of prior drug activ- ity in the area. *A driver was warned for a de- fective brake light in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy. *A smoldering carburetor from an abandoned vehicle caused a small brush fire on Caves Hwy. near Tycer Crossing at 3:15 p.m. The ve- hicle was a hazard and was towed. *A driver was advised to be aware of pedestri- ans in the cross- walk in the 200 block of Redwood Hwy. at 3:54 p.m. *Unpleasant guests at a Selma restaurant refused to leave when asked, then punched the com- plainant for calling the sheriff’s office at 4:21 p.m. Every- one was warned about harassment by a deputy. *A woman said her 19-year- old son was as- saulted at a busi- ness on Caves Hwy. at 4:27 p.m. *A woman in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. became suspicious when a caller asked her for a credit card number for a magazine subscription she had not ordered. *There was extra Community Oriented Policing at Illinois River “Forks” State Park at 9:35 p.m. *On Hogue Drive, three people were said to be beating a fourth at 10:23 p.m. Thursday, April 8 *A bi-polar, 17-year-old, run- away phoned his grandmother from San Francisco, his mother said. *Rodney Neil Ochesky, 37, was cited for DWS, failure to carry proof of insurance and expired tags; and warned for having no front plate at the I.V.
