LAST WORDS - If men were angels, no govern-
ment would be necessary. (James Madison)
country, that for the most
part assures us that roving
bands or murderous militia
won’t swoop out of the
hills and forests, hacking,
shooting and burning? It is
our democratic govern-
ment and the will of the
people expressed through
the vote and the right to
bear arms.
Many are skeptical
about voting and complain
that their vote probably
wouldn’t count anyway.
The massive amount of
power wasted by the no-
show vote could rewrite
history and change the
world. A glaring example
is the handing of the presi-
dency to G.W. Bush, who
supposedly won by so few
votes that a questionable
recall was conducted. So
much for the millions of
voters who just didn’t have
the time or desire.
I would like to point
out that many good things
we partake of in our soci-
ety are due to the will,
vigilance, and sacrifices of
its citizens. The bad things
that happen may not be our
will, but if they continue
unchecked it can only be
attributed to acceptance.
The power of the vote
stretches from the presi-
dent and a small army of
unusually like-minded ap-
pointees to councilmen,
mayors, governors, etc.
If we don’t like how
we are being served, re-
move them as often and as
many times necessary until
we have the people in gov-
ernment who do the will of
the people.
To complain and show
no desire to help remedy
our complaints is, well,
frivolous at least, if not a
tad selfish in partaking of
the good and leaving it up
to the rest to keep it that
way. Our children. Our
children’s children.
different Bible translations,
most of which for all intent
and purpose say the same.
In a few cases, a person,
group or church has al-
tered, twisted, manipu-
lated, added to or taken
away from the Word of
God to suit their own
agenda. It then becomes
the word of man, not
God’s Word.
Rev. 22:18-19 read, “I
warn everyone who hears
the words of the prophecy
of this book: If anyone
adds anything to them,
God will add to him the
plagues described in this
book. And if anyone takes
words away from this book
of prophecy, God will take
from him his share in the
tree of life and in the Holy
City, which are described
in this book.”
I also feel it is good for
young people to attend
church; and when they are
mature enough in the Lord,
they should pray for His
guidance in their choice of
a church. Not be led by
friendships, etc.
Yes, there are many
Christian religions, but
only one God the Father,
Jesus the Son, and Holy
Spirit. To be a born-again
Christian, you must be-
lieve Jesus is the one and
only begotten Son of God,
accept Him as your per-
sonal Savior, and repent of
your sins.
All Christian churches
should accept everyone
(with the exception of
those people who want to
use the church for their
own agenda). How can a
person learn the word of
God (Bible) and be en-
couraged, etc. by brothers
and sisters in Christ if they
are not allowed in church?

you are not that great.

Rakes’ second letter in the

open to other opinions and
searching for the truth.
It seems that we are on
the same track on several
points:
Hate in any form is
wrong. Jesus called the
Pharisees (who hated and
wanted to kill Him) hypo-
crites on several occasions,
but He loved them enough
to try time and again to
reach them.
