parties to remove approximately 10,000 board
feet of merchantable timber and clear away the
debris from the property located at the Illinois
Valley High School, 625 East River Street,
Cave Junction, Oregon.
Proposals will be accepted until 2 P.M.
Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the district’s
maintenance building, 126 Ringuette Street,
Grants Pass, Oregon 97527.
Bids must be in sealed envelope marked with
“Timber Removal”, addressed to:

not in compliance with all prescribed public
bidding procedures and requirements, and may
reject for good cause any or all bids upon a

IMPROVEMENTS, in rem, Defendants.

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on
February 11, 2004, the United States filed a
complaint for forfeiture in rem on the above-
described real properties, brought under the
provisions of 21 U.S.C. § 801; 28 U.S.C. §§
1345, 1355, 1356 and 1395; and 19 U.S.C. §
1610, wherein it is sought to have the above-
described real properties forfeited to the United
States for the reason that it was used or
intended to be used to commit or to facilitate
the commission of an illegal drug transaction in
violation of 21 U.S.C. § 801, et seq., and is
subject to forfeiture pursuant to 21 U.S.C.
§ 881(a)(7).
Any person claiming an interest in the
defendant real properties must file a verified
statement of interest or right, in the manner set
forth in Rule C(6)(a) of the Supplemental Rules
for Certain Admiralty and Maritime Claims,
Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, except that
such clain must be filed not later than 30 days
after the date of final publication of notice of the
filing of the complaint. In addition, any person
having filed such a claim shall also file an
answer to the complaint not later than 20 days
after the filing of the claim.
The claim shall be verified on oath or solemn
affirmation, and shall state the interest in the
property by virtue of the action, and should be
filed with the Clerk of the United States District
Court for the District of Oregon, 1000 S.W,
Third Avenue, Rm. 740, Portland, OR 97204.
A copy of the claim and answer should be
served upon, LESLIE J. WESTPHAL, Assistant
United States Attorney (AUSA), at the same
address.
