*In the 700 block of
McMullen Creek Road, a
man wearing fatigue cloth-
ing appeared to be casing
the neighborhood, a man
said at 8:10 a.m.
*A dark-green Ford
Bronco with a 10-inch lift
kit was reported stolen
from the 1000 block of
Caves Hwy. at 7:58 a.m.
* He r s i st e r a nd
brother-in-law had used
her name to obtain service
from Pacific Power at two
separate locations, a
woman said.
*In the 100 block of S.
Redwood Hwy., a man
said his son had sold tribal
possessions, including a
rifle, tools and clothing,
without tribal permission.
*Two dogs, being ag-
gressive and running loose
in the 500 block of W.
River Street prompted a
call from a concerned
mother at 2:13 p.m.
*A deputy followed
into town a vehicle which
was smoking heavily due
to a blown head-gasket.
*A man reported as-
saulting a woman, and in
turn being bashed on his
head with a baseball bat by
another man, was found
naked and bleeding in a
bathtub in a residence on
W. River Street by depu-
ties responding to the call.
He was taken into custody
on a peace officer’s mental
hold and transported to
Three Rivers Community
Hospital (TRCH).
*In the 38000 block of
Redwood Hwy. a man said
his neighbor was blocking
the roadway with logs, and
that he feared an alterca-
tion would occur if he
moved them without dep-
uty assistance.
*When confronted, a
man who had been strip-
ping a car without a license
plate chased the confronter
with a chain, said a man in
the 24000 block of Red-
wood Hwy.
Friday, March 5
*An unresponsive,
intoxicated man was taken
to TRCH at 9:56 a.m.
*At Lorna Byrne Mid-
dle School, a 13-year-old
girl was cited on a charge
of possession of a con-
trolled substance - less
than an ounce of mari-
juana, and released.
*A man said he had
left his wallet on the de-
posit table at SOFCU, and
within moments it had
been taken. A suspect was
seen on surveillance video.
*A fishing tackle dis-
play, which had been or-
dered and partially paid
for, was never delivered to
a business in the 18000
block of Redwood Hwy, it
was reported.
*A driver was warned
for speeding in the 22000
block of Redwood Hwy. at
4:40 p.m.
*Because he had a
shotgun strapped to his
back, a man pushing a bi-
cycle in the 300 block of
Caves Hwy. aroused suspi-
cion. The caller was ad-
vised that “this in itself is
not illegal.”
*After a driver struck a
building on private prop-
erty in the 400 block of S.
Redwood Hwy. at 4:47
p.m., he provided the own-
ers with insurance infor-
mation and left.
*Four men were said
to be fighting on a parking
lot in the 100 block of S.
Redwood Hwy. When con-
tacted, the parties insisted
it was verbal only and no
one wanted to press
charges.
*A deer struck by a car
in the 2400 block of Deer
Creek Road was still alive
and thrashing around in a
ditch 15 minutes later, a
man said. He offered to
dispatch the animal, but a
law enforcement officer
said he’d be there momen-
tarily to handle it.
*Transients sleeping in
a shed attached to a house
in the 100 block of S.
Kerby Avenue constituted
a zoning law violation. The
residents were advised to
take immediate action to
comply with zoning ordi-
nances.
*A driver was warned
for failure to use head-
lights when required and
for defective equipment.
*A driver was warned
for speeding on N. Red-
wood Hwy. at W. River
Street.
*A driver was warned
for having a white light to
the rear of the vehicle.
*Joseph A. Mazza, 17,
was cited on charges of
first-degree DWS, and fail-
ure to carry proof of insur-
ance, and warned for
speeding, failure to signal
a turn, and failure to yield
to an emergency vehicle,
and his vehicle was towed.
*A woman phoned
from a bar in the 400 block
of S. Redwood Hwy. to
say that a man outside had
threatened to hit her. She
requested the man be con-
tacted about his conduct.
*For the past month,
his daughter’s ex-friend
has been calling and har-
assing his family, said a
man in the 200 block of
Caves Avenue.
Saturday, March 6
*Some dogs had been
abandoned in a pickup
truck for two days, and no
one could let them out be-
cause they were mean. The
owner of the truck and
dogs showed up, and drove
away with them.
*Charles Michael
Froelich, 55, was cited on
charges of failure to appear
(FTA) DUII and giving
false information to police
at 9:06 a.m.
*Aaron Lee Clouser,
30, was arrested at Jubilee
Park on warrants charging
him with FTA/third-degree
escape and FTA/third-
degree theft. He was taken
to Josephine County Jail.
*A man phoned for
help with his son, 17, who
was pounding on walls,
breaking doors, screaming
and yelling, and generally
out of control. The boy left
the house with a 12-inch-
long knife prior to a dep-
uty’s arrival. The father
was advised of options.
*In the 2000 block of
Lakeshore Drive, a highly
intoxicated man was tres-
passing on property where
he was not welcome. He
was warned regarding dis-
orderly conduct and crimi-
nal trespass.
Never use gasoline to
start a fire.
Use only laboratory-
approved containers for
storing gasoline. They
should be airtight, un-
vented and have a pouring
spout to prevent spills.
Leave at least two
inches of space at the top
of the can for vapor expan-
sion.
When transporting
gasoline, keep the con-
tainer on the floor of the
back seat, with the win-
dows down.
Gasoline should be
transported only for short
distances.
