theft and second-degree
criminal mischief.
*On Norman Road,
someone called to report a
vehicle taken without per-
mission, but while on the
phone, received a call
alerting him to where the
vehicle was.
*A 9-year-old on
McMullen Creek Road
called 911 because her
brothers were picking on
her. Mother was to talk to
the children.
*After a mother/
daughter dispute about
bedtime, the girl packed
her bags to go stay with
her father.
Thursday, Feb. 26
*Much static was
heard on the line after a
911 call from S. Hussey
Avenue at 3:20 a.m. When
contacted, the resident said
he’d been having phone
problems.
*Another troublesome
phone line was deemed
responsible for another 911
hang up call from S. Junc-
tion Avenue.
*A malfunction,
probably the result of rain,
was said responsible for a
911 hang-up from Honey-
bee Lane at 7:35 a.m.
*A driver was warned
for violation of the basic
rule/driving too fast for
conditions on Redwood
Hwy. at Deer Creek Road
at 9:41 a.m.
*Following another
911 hang-up call from S.
Junction Avenue, a deputy
contacted the home owner
who was to contact the
phone company.
*When a woman went
to a location on Takilma
Road to retrieve her prop-
erty, she was assaulted, she
said. When her father went
to the location, he too, was
assaulted, she said. A dep-
uty responding to the loca-
tion determined it was a
civil matter, unfounded as
an assault.
*A young runaway girl
was found in the 27000
block of Redwood Hwy.
attempting to hitchhike to
California.
*Property valued at
$2.46 was recovered from
a shoplifting suspect at
Shop Smart at 12:38 p.m.
*In Kerby, an emo-
tionally disturbed man
with a shotgun who had
been drinking and taking
pills was contacted at 1:14
p.m. It was determined that
the man was just de-
pressed, not suicidal.
*Clifford D. Stockton,
61, was arrested on a
charge of third-degree theft
and cited to appear follow-
ing a shoplifting incident
at Shop Smart at 2:05 p.m.
*On Old Stage Road,
resident noticed a person at
a vacant house. The sub-
ject was gone when a dep-
uty arrived.
*A dead deer was in
the ditch in front of a
man’s home on Lakeshore
Drive, but he didn’t want
to move it because of high
traffic volume. A message
was left for Public Works
to remove the carcass.
*While driving on
Caves Hwy. someone fired
a weapon at his vehicle,
causing damage, a man
said at 3:44 p.m.
*A driver was warned
for speeding on Takilma
Road at 5:49 p.m.
*A driver was warned
for defective tail lights and
allowed to continue home
with hazard lights flashing.
*No injuries were re-
ported when a van went
into a ditch in the 1000
block of Caves Hwy. at
6:24 p.m.
*A 54-year-old valley
man was taken into cus-
tody on a peace officer’s
mental hold and trans-
ported to TRCH after he
told a worker at a recovery
center that he was off his
meds, and he wanted to
end his life by calling law
enforcement to his home
and then ambushing the
officers so they would
shoot him.
Friday, Feb. 27
*Two people having a
verbal dispute near Coffee
Heaven were contacted at
7:19 a.m.
*Gunshots were heard
at 9 a.m. said a man on
Norman Road.
*A driver was warned
for having no front license
plate on Lone Mountain
Road at 11:48 a.m.
*In the 400 block of
Kinnickkinnick Drive, a
man was yelling and
threatening to “go get a
gun” at 12:33 p.m. The
man was gone when a dep-
uty arrived.
*A school official said
a young man who had been
repeatedly warned not to
come on a closed, private-
school campus in CJ had
been there again. The com-
plainant asked that the man
be “trespassed” if con-
tacted.
*Because her adult
daughter had been drink-

wanted deputy contact.
The daughter left on foot
prior to a deputy’s arrival.
*A business owner in
Downtown CJ said 20-30
transients had congregated
behind the business and
had been sleeping, drink-

ing, urinating and loitering
there for approximately
eight hours. Another busi-
ness owner in the same
building called with the
same complaint. The re-
sponding deputy was un-
able to locate any tran-
sients.
*A business owner in
Downtown CJ said she
believes the loitering tran-
