Blue Moon Café offers new menu

Tina Brick considers
herself an “accidental café
owner.”
“I would have never
imagined myself here. But
when I heard the previous
owner was moving on and
considering closing the
doors, well, I just couldn’t
see that happening.” Brick
said.
Brick and co-owner
Judy McGovern set to
work. They drafted a busi-
ness plan, attracted an in-
vestor, and refocused the
café’s emphasis on excel-
lent food and a comfort-
able atmosphere.
“We’ve changed the
menu considerably, offer-
ing fresh soups made from
scratch and excellent sand-
wiches,” Brick said. Vege-
tarians will find plenty of
tasty options at the Blue
Moon Café.
The café also features
fresh, signature-recipe
baked goods, cakes, muf-
fins, and cookies, made
with the best organic and
all natural ingredients; or-
ganic coffee and specialty
coffee drinks; and teas.
Orders can be placed to go.
McGovern and Brick
are both involved in creat-
ing scrumptious menu
items. “We’re a good
team,” McGovern says,
smiling. “We compliment
each other.”
Blue Moon will still
have some books, and the
light, spacious interior is a
good location for showing
local art.
“We plan to host an
artist every month. Cur-
rently we have Debbie
Dawson’s paintings on
display through March,”
said Brick. “We’re trying
to showcase as many art-
ists and local crafts as pos-
sible.”
The café will also par-
ticipate in the Art Walk
festivities when the season
commences.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Josephine County – City of Grants Pass Solid
Waste Agency will conduct Public Hearings on a pro-
posed rate increase affecting Josephine County residents.
As proposed, the $1.00 (one dollar) per month base
fee increase for a 32-gallon container and pro rata changes
for other volumes would affect users served by Southern
Oregon Sanitation inside the Urban Growth Boundary and
Josephine County.
Residential rates for Grants Pass Sanitation are not
affected. These hearings will also consider a change in
special medical rates in territories for both Southern Ore-
gon Sanitation and Grants Pass Sanitation.
Hearings will be conducted by a Hearings Officer at
the following times and locations: February 17, 7:00 PM,
Cave Junction Council Chambers, 222 Lister Street, Cave
Junction, Oregon. February 24, 7:00 PM, Grants Pass
Council Chambers, 101 NW “A” Street, Grants Pass, Ore-
