A deputy recovered the items and filed a report. *On Rockydale Road, a man noted a continuing harassment problem with a neighbor and his buddies stemming from an incident several months ago in which reportedly the neighbor’s dog killed his. *Items valued at $415 were taken from a vehicle and two sheds in the 100 block of S. Boundary Ave- nue, it was reported. *A possibly intoxi- cated driver in a pickup truck was driving erratic- ally on Redwood Hwy. in Kerby at 12:39 p.m. *A very depressed man with a history of men- tal health problems was taken into custody on a peace officer’s mental hold and transported to TRCH from the I.V. Substation. *Willem J. Blind, 68, was cited on a charge of speeding on E. River Street at Shadowbrook Drive at 5:29 p.m. *Adult siblings in the 800 block of Caves Hwy. were having a dispute, spitting on each other and chest-butting each other prompting a 911 call at 6:14 p.m. However, nei- ther party wished to pursue harassment charges. *A boy reported miss- ing from his residence at 7:37 p.m. was found at a neighbor’s house. *A vehicle was in a ditch between Eight Dollar Mt. Road and Selma at 8:30 p.m. No injuries were reported. Friday, Jan. 30 *An “unwholesome” house guest was asked to leave a residence on Patton Bar Drive. *Carla R. Carrier, 40, was arrested on a charge of DUII, and her car was towed after a crash in the 800 block of Lakeshore Drive at 12:04 a.m. *A “huge” tree fell across the road in the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive, damaging two cars and a fence at 12:06 a.m. *A tree was down in power lines on Hogue Drive at 2:55 a.m. *A tree was on the roadway on Redwood Hwy. at milepost 25 at 5:15 p.m. *In the 5000 block of Lakeshore Drive, a woman said there was an unknown man in her house when she woke up at 5:30 a.m. He left. *Raymond Ronald. Karczewski ( c ), 65, was arrested at his home at 7:30 a.m. on a charge of failure to comply with the terms of his probation on the original charge of seven counts of simulating a legal process. He was lodged at Josephine County Jail. *A “suspicious” vehi- cle with a broken wind- shield was left with the engine running and no one around on Wildpark Lane at 7:54 a.m. *Four people were fighting over a rental issue in the 500 block of W. River Street at 11:27 a.m. *Randy Ray Steine- bach, 31, was arrested on a charge of probation viola- tion and lodged in Jose- phine County jail. *A man in the 600 block of Frederick Court asked to speak with a dep- uty about a suspicious inci- dent at 1:54 p.m. The situation was unfounded as a crime. *An alarm was re- ported in the 100 block of Ollis Road at 3:24 p.m. *On Reeves Creek Road near South Shore Drive at 11:52 a.m., a Jo- sephine County work crew came upon approximately 40 suspected marijuana root balls. The roots were bagged and turned over to a deputy, who, unable to determine what exactly the root balls were, deposited NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Josephine County – City of Grants Pass Solid Waste Agency will conduct Public Hearings on a pro- posed rate increase affecting Josephine County residents. As proposed, the $1.00 (one dollar) per month base fee increase for a 32-gallon container and pro rata changes for other volumes would affect users served by Southern Oregon Sanitation inside the Urban Growth Boundary and Josephine County. Residential rates for Grants Pass Sanitation are not affected. These hearings will also consider a change in special medical rates in territories for both Southern Ore- gon Sanitation and Grants Pass Sanitation. Red- wood Hwy. at 6:36 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 *A horse found wan- dering on Westside Road at 2:34 a.m. was reunited with its owner. *Following an alarm at Lorna Byrne Middle School, the area was checked and found secure at 2:10 p.m. *A driver was warned for VBR at 4:07 p.m. on Lakeshore Drive at Thompson Creek Road. *A teenager on a bike threw rocks at her home, damaging the siding, a woman said. *Eric Cole Orr, 21, was arrested and charged with FTA reckless driving, DWS, failure to carry and present a driver’s license and providing false infor- mation, and PCS metham- phetamine. Orr was also warned for having a defec- tive license plate light. *Two teenaged chil- dren angry with their mother having a verbal dispute were very nearly out of control. All parties were contacted and ad- vised of their options. *A mother found a Smith & Wesson .44 mag- num, which she believed was stolen, in her son’s backpack. She requested a deput y retrieve the weapon. *Michael P. Corrigan, 43, was cited to appear on a charge of PCS less than a ounce of marijuana follow- ing a consent search during a traffic stop on W. Lister Street at Redwood Hwy. at 10:35 p.m. Corrigan was also warned for having defective equipment. Sunday, Feb. 1 *A former tenant was advised that he has the right to retrieve his belong- ings in spite of the land- lord’s refusal to let him on the property. *A driver was warned The Oregon State Kids Wrestling Championship was held Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 in Clackamas, Ore. (Photo by Ward Winter) (Located at the corner of Rockydale Road and Hwy. 199) Connect-The- Dots and RCC stage play Connect The Dots, in collaboration with Rogue Community College (RCC), has cast 60 local actors in a production of “The Laramie Project” by Moises Kaufman to be staged this month in Grants Pass and Medford. “The Laramie Project” is a documentary-style play about the community of Laramie, Wyoming’s reaction to the Matthew Shepard murder in 1998. Many local theatre favorites will be seen in the production. “The Laramie Pro- ject” will be performed Wednesday through Satur- day Feb. 18 through 21 at the Redwood Campus of RCC and Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Ginger Rogers Craterian Theatre in Med- ford.
