Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, Dec. 14 *A man passed a field sobriety test in the 25600 block of Redwood Hwy. at 12:42 a.m. *In the 25800 block of Redwood Hwy. Nicky George Ziegler, 22, was arrested on charges of fel- ony elude, reckless driv- ing, driving under the in- fluence of an intoxicant, and resisting arrest. Ziegler was bleeding from his face and claimed to have been beaten at the time of arrest. He was unable to identify a suspect at the scene due to his high level of intoxica- tion, deputies said. *In the 300 block of E. River Street a woman said minors were in possession of alcohol or drugs at a party. Deputies were un- able to respond due to lim- ited resources. *A citizen said a fender was on the road at the Hay’s Hill summit af- ter a non-injury motor ve- hicle accident. Brandon Joseph Griffin, 25, was cited for violation of the basic rule (driving too fast for conditions) at 5:51 p.m. *A man in the 300 block of Hanby Lane said he is being harassed by another man in regards to a recent break-up with his girlfriend. The man said the harasser wanted $10 or he “would kill him.” *In the 300 block of S. Caves Avenue a woman said two suspicious men came to her door; then went to Jubilee Park. Deputies were unable to locate them. *In the 200 block of W. Stevenson Street a woman said her elderly mother died. No name was given. I.V. Funeral Home was contacted. *In the 4800 block of Dick George Road a man said he misdialed 911. *A man in the 5900 block of Deer Creek Road said three dogs were chas- ing and biting at his horses. He shot his gun into the air to scare them away. One of the dogs also reportedly had killed a tur- key previously. *On Illinois River Road deputies stopped a man with a Christmas tree. The man had a permit at- tached to it. *Two acres of pasture and several trees were damaged after four- wheelers were on his prop- erty, said a man in the 600 block of Deer Creek Road. St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church The year will come to a close at midnight on Wednesday, Dec. 31 and we will welcome 2004. To begin this new year, we will celebrate a Mass at 10 a.m. in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God. On Sunday, Jan. 4 we will celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord, with the Gos- pel reading from Matthew, which tells the story of the Magi following the star to Bethlehem to pay homage to the child Jesus.
