Thursday, Dec. 4
*A man in the 800
block of Crooks Creek
Road said he gave a care
provider a small change
purse to use while running
errands. The purse, which
contained a social security
card, driver’s license, Ore-
gon Trail Card, library
card, $200 cash and a post
office key, was never re-
turned. The care provider
said she lost it.
*Two juvenile boys
were contacted by deputies
for possession of large
marijuana stems at Ever-
green Elementary School.
A report was filed for pos-
session of a controlled sub-
stance within 1,000 yards
of a school.
*Justin Horn, 14, was
cited and released to the
custody of his father for
shoplifting at Shop Smart
Food Warehouse in Down-
town Cave Junction.
*In the 200 block of
Iron Way Paul Winfield
Cole Jr., 41, was arrested
on a charge of a restraining
order violation. He was
transported to Josephine
County Adult Jail in
Grants Pass.
*Jeffrey Allan Hollo-
way, 48, was arrested on a
charge of DUII at 6:58
p.m. on Redwood Hwy.
and Laurel Road.
*At the Junction Inn, a
woman reported a TV was
missing from a room. A
possible suspect checked
in to the motel using a
methadone ID card.
Friday, Dec. 5
* Daniel G. Marquard,
51, was arrested on a war-
rant for failure to appear
on charges of criminal
mischief and criminal tres-
pass, near the Junction Inn
at 1:09 a.m.
* Anthony Miller Ru-
ark, 15, was cited on a
charge of possession of a
controlled substance at
IVHS at 11:32 a.m. He
was released to his uncle.
* A man said his 16-
year-old boy, who keeps
swords and knives in his
room, was beyond parental
control. He wanted the boy
“hauled off for his own
safety and (the father’s)
well being.” Deputies ad-
vised the father that he can
discipline his child. The
father will also remove all
weapons from the resi-
dence.
*At a business in

Selma, a citizen said a ven-
dor selling fishing supplies
received a $200 deposit
and he never returned with
the goods, in spite of hav-
ing been contacted eight to
10 times since then. The
complainant was advised
of his civil options.
*Harold Lee Reynolds,
78, was cited and released
for shoplifting at Shop
Smart Food Warehouse.
*Arthur Dustin Difu-
ria, 28, was arrested on a
charge of DWS, and cited
for a dangerous left turn
and failure to carry insur-
ance, in the 100 block of
N Redwood Hwy., at 5:26
p.m. His vehicle was im-
pounded
* In the 900 block of
S. Old Stage Road, a man
complained that a property
owner was not permitting
him to remove his trailer.
The property owner
claimed the other man
owed him money. The
money was paid, the trailer
removed. Matter resolved.
*Virgil Daniel Guess,
25, was arrested in the
24000 block of Redwood
Hwy. on a warrant for
charges of failure to appear
and providing false infor-
mation to police.
*On West River St.,
near Evergreen Elementary
school, a woman reported
that two kids ran out into
the road in front of her car.
A third rode out on a
scooter. When the woman
got out of her car to tell the
kids to watch for cars, one
of the kids, approximately
10 years old, attempted to
take a cigarette from her
hand. She wanted deputies
to warn the children about
their dangerous activity.
*At 9:35 p.m., an
anonymous citizen said
that there was going to be
“a big methamphetamine
party” at a Cave Junction
apartment that night. The
citizen wanted extra pa-
trols. A deputy said all
was quiet.
Saturday, Dec. 6
*After crashing a sto-
len car in the 24000 block
of Redwood Hwy., damag-
ing a parked trailer and
downing a phone line, sev-
eral suspects fled the scene
and took refuge in a nearby
house. Arrested in connec-
tion with the incident were
Guy Caley McFarland, 21,
charged with unauthorized
use of a vehicle and hin-
dering prosecution; and
Jayme Fawn Carter, 25, on
charges of UUV, failure to
leave name at a scene,
three counts of first-degree
criminal mischief, eluding,
assault, third degree as-
sault, reckless driving,
reckless endangerment,
DUII, and misdemeanor
DWS.
*On Holland Loop
Road, a citizen said a large
vehicle was stuck in a field
and peeling out at a school
at 2:54 p.m.
*A resident on Wild-
park Lane reported a suspi-
cious vehicle, likely be-
longing to mushroom hunt-
ers, parked on his property.
Deputies checked the area
and found nothing amiss.
*On W. River Street, a
woman said three young
boys were running out into
the street at the approach
of cars. The boys were
contacted and warned
about their activity.
*A citizen reported a
burglary at 12:33 p.m. at
Caves Mini Mall. Details
of what was missing were
not provided.
*A woman at a Cave
Junction church said a
woman was harassing her
by phone, via e-mail, and
even came to her at the
church and “threatened
bodily harm.” She was
contacted and warned
about her conduct.
*A TV that was miss-
ing from the Junction Inn
was returned at 12:57 p.m.
*At 4:25 p.m., a man
contacted deputies to in-
form them he had recov-
ered his stolen vehicle
from a location on Wood

Creek Road.
*In an apparent case of
identity theft, a woman in
a Kerby neighborhood said
someone activated a phone
in her son’s name. She
was in contact with the
phone company, and they
will pursue the matter after
a police report is filed.
*In the 100 block of
Warren Road, a woman
said a man was violating a
restraining order. She took
photos of his activities.
*At Day Oil Company
on Caves Hwy., a citizen
said someone damaged a
lock and some pumps. The
