CCR23-tfc PLEASE DON’T DRINK & DRIVE PUBLIC NOTICE AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The City of Cave Junction is eligible to apply for a 2003 Community Develop- ment Block Grant from the Oregon Economic and Community Development De- partment. Community Development Block Grant funds come from the U.S. De- partment of Housing and Urban Development. The grants can be used for public facilities and housing improvements, primarily for persons with low and moderate incomes. Approximately $15 million will be awarded to Oregon non-metropolitan cities and counties in 2003. The maximum grant that a city or county can receive is $750,000. The City is considering an application for a 2003 Community Devel- opment Block Grant from the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department for the Economic Development Infrastructure Project supporting the Siskiyou Community Health Center. It is estimated that the proposed project will benefit at least 1400 persons, of whom 66% will be low or moderate income. A public hearing will be held by the City Council at 7:30 p.m. on October 13, 2003 in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 222 W. Lister Street, Cave Junction, Ore- gon. The purpose of this hearing is for the City Council to obtain citizen views and to respond to questions and comments about: - Community development and housing needs, especially the needs of low and moderate income persons, as well as other needs in the community that might be assisted with a Community Development Block Grant project. - The proposed project. Written comments are also welcome and must be re- ceived by 5:00 p.m. on October 13 th at City Hall, PO Box 1396, Cave Junction OR 97523. Both oral and written comments will be considered by the Council in deciding whether to apply. The location of the hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities.
