Neither spoke to the court during their hearing. Hernandez and Maya assailed Robert Stieber, of Medford, near the railroad tracks crossing Jackson Street around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 6. Hernandez tapped Stieber's temple with a shotgun, told him to lie down or he'd kill him, and demanded his money. The two men took Stieber's wallet -- contain- ing about $10 -- and ran south along the tracks. Stieber was not injured. Police quickly arrived, responding to an earlier call from a witness who said he heard a shotgun being cocked and fired shortly after seeing two young men walking in the area.
