Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, Sept. 8 *Two women and a man were said to be walk- ing near the Selma 76 sta- tion with a shotgun. Depu- ties said their ride left them, and they were wait- ing for another ride. *At 9:10 a.m. in the 3700 block of Dick George Road a man said he was worried about a suspicious vehicle on his driveway due to recent burglaries in the area. Deputies said they were unable to locate the vehicle. *In the 3000 block of Holland Loop Road depu- ties checked on a unoccu- pied, disabled vehicle with loose engine parts. *In the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. a citizen said a man was passed out on the sidewalk and that his dog was being vicious to passersby. Deputies warned the intoxicated man and he left the area. *A woman in the 100 block of Caves Avenue said some men were tres- passing. Deputies cited Jeremy Beck, 24, under a warrant for failure to ap- pear on a charge of third- degree theft. *In the 100 block of Hussey Avenue a woman said a neighbor was play- ing his music too loud. *At Redwood Hwy. and Rockydale Road a man said a man and woman were fighting. They split before deputies could arrive. Tuesday, Sept. 9 *In the 17000 block of Redwood Hwy. a woman said a man threw her off her porch. She did not want to press charges, and deputies advised the man for trespassing. *In the 30000 block of Redwood Hwy. deputies responded to a single- vehicle accident. Margaret Lyon, no age listed, of O’Brien was transported by American Medical Re- sponse to Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. *Mail was missing, a woman said, in the 4700 block of Waldo Road. *Four men were drink- ing beer and urinating on a parking lot, a man in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. said. Deputies were unable to locate them. *Elfego Chavez Ma- gana, 31, was cited on a charge of speeding in the 33000 block of Redwood Hwy. *Five juvenile male persons held up a sign that read, “You better watch your back,” while driving in a white vehicle in the 18400 block of Redwood Hwy., a man said. *In the 500 block of W. Watkins Street a man said a girl, 10, and a boy, 7, were missing. He called back to say the children were OK. *In the 300 block of W. Lister Street a man said several items were taken by an ex-girlfriend includ- ing an X-Box game ma- chine. He said that all the items taken didn't belong to her. *In the 300 block of Waldamar Road a woman said her ex-boyfriend came over and removed several items including a dirt bike and furniture. Deputies said it was a civil matter. *A man in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. wanted to know if there was a reward for returning a semi-truck loaded with stolen goods. Deputies said they checked the vehicle and filed a report. *Nicole McArthur, 36, was charged with driving- while-suspended (DWS) at Redwood Hwy. and Finch Road. *In the 100 block of Hogue Drive a man said his throat was swelling and that he was having trouble breathing due to tonsillitis or something similar. *A man said a truck was circling around with its lights off at a church in the 5100 block of Holland Loop Road. Deputies cited Robert A. Sutherland, 21, on a charge of driving without a valid operator’s permit and for failure to carry proof of insurance. Deputies said the vehicle was having motor prob- lems. Wednesday, Sept. 10 *Someone was in the woods near a home in the 27700 block. The com- plainant was worried that it was her estranged hus- band. Deputies said they’d patrol the area. *A man in the 6800 block of West Side Road said he found a stolen ve- hicle at the bottom of a ditch. *In the 2500 block of Lakeshore Drive a citizen said a vehicle passed a bus while red lights were flash- ing. *A citizen said a tree fell across Eight Dollar Mountain Road blocking one lane. *A woman walking on Old Stage Road with five children said some teen- agers nearly hit her in their vehicle. Her co-worker had to grab her and pull her aside, she said. Deputies said it was a landlord-tenant issue. *Two men were said to be riding on a motorcy- cle without helmets in the 4900 block of Laurel Road. *At Jubilee Park a citi- zen said someone left a faucet running in the men’s restroom and it flooded. *At the intersection of S. Sawyer Avenue and Schumacher Street a man said someone was driving erratically. Thursday, Sept. 11 *In the 1000 block of Pine Cone Drive deputies arrested Merle Leonard Southard, 24, on two war- rants. *Eric Johnson was cited on a charge of DWS on Rockydale Road. *In the 7200 block of Holland Loop Road a man said he was worried about some kids playing in his barn getting hurt. The fa- ther of the children said the kids would no longer play there, deputies said. *From Ken Rose Lane a man saw a large white helicopter carrying a large white propane tank-like capsule beneath it. He was concerned because it was the anniversary of the 9- 11-01 terrorist attacks. Deputies contacted Oregon Dept. of Forestry and Grants Pass Airport. Nei- ther had knowledge of the helicopter, which may have been part of a logging operation. *In the 300 block of Mona Way a man said an- other man was refusing to return a trailer he loaned him. He decided not to press charges, deputies said. *There was a suspi- cious vehicle on a parking lot in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy., a citizen said. *In the 2300 block of Lakeshore Drive a vehicle went over an embankment. Deputies assisted Oregon State Police. The driver of the vehicle refused medical aid. *For some reason a man reported that in the 14500 block of Redwood Hwy. four or five horses were grazing on the side of the road. *At the intersection of Finch Road and Redwood Hwy. a man said a vehicle was in the field with its doors open. Prescription pill bottles, paperwork, and tools littered the inside of the vehicle. Deputies said the vehicle was on private property and was not a hazard. *In the 400 block of W. River Street a citizen said a young man was rid- ing a motorcycle without a helmet on a church parking lot. *Charles Samuel Greenwood, 59, was charged with speeding in the 29000 block of Red- wood Hwy. *Several people were fighting physically behind a business; then left in two vehicles in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy., it was noted. *At Caves Hwy. and Junction Avenue Dennis Dewitt, 56, was cited on charges of no valid operat- ing permit and failure to carry proof of insurance. SELMA SCORCHER - An unattended candle was likely the cause of a small travel trailer blaze on Warren Road in Selma on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at approximately 6:57 p.m. The owner of the trailer, Rhonda Jackson, was using it for storage and was reportedly at the loca- tion 30 minutes prior to the fire, according to I.V. Fire District. Approximately 15 personnel from IVFD re- sponded with two engines, two tenders, two tankers and one rescue vehicle. The estimated cost of the fire was $1,500 with the trailer being a total loss. Several surrounding trees were also scorched. Illinois Valley Golf Course The course is green!
