From 1950 to 1986 he was involved in various endeavors, including work- ing as a geologist for inde- pendent operators and con- sulting geological firms in the Rocky Mt. area. He also jointly published “The Kunkel Report,” used by Bureau of Land Manage- ment regarding federal oil and gas lease tracts. In Sedona, Ariz. St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church When we gather on the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, we will focus on the ninth chapter of Mark where Jesus talks about sin, stating that if a person causes another to sin, “It would be better for him if a great millstone were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.” Jesus also makes it clear that there is a “Gehenna” (a “Hell”) where people may go as a result of their sins. It is described as a place where “their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.” We, as Christians, be- lieve that there is such a place, but we also believe that such suffering can be avoided by rejecting sin and living our lives ac- cording to God’s laws.
