New golf pro

He attended Los Ange-
les City College and
graduated from the Univer-
sity of Wichita, Kan. He
attended the university in
the evenings during a four-
year stint in the U.S. Air
Force.
Day said he enjoys
playing at IVGC, a 6,004 -
yard, par 72 course and
finds the 343 yard, par 4,
fifth hole to be the most
challenging.
“It has a good layout,”
he said of the course. “It’s
a tough course. Most of the
greens are elevated and it
makes for tough shots.”

Club played a low-net
tournament. Winners were:

softball team
Kim Hamilton recently
earned honorable mention
as a utility softball player
on the all-state softball
team.
Hamilton, who re-
cently graduated from
IVHS, was a scholar ath-
lete, and was a second-
team all-conference pitcher
this season in the Skyline
Conference.
