LEGAL NOTICE
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board plans to hold a
public hearing on the potential acquisition of a conservation
easement on a 30.83 acre floodplain parcel along the main-
stream of Williams Creek near Williams in Josephine
County. The hearing will take place in Williams, Wednesday,
April 23, 2003, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Williams
Grange, 20100 Williams Hwy. The Board plans to hold a con-
servation easement on the parcel as a condition of a grant award
to the Williams Creek Watershed Council to purchase the prop-
erty, and to ensure that the property’s use is consistent with the
Board’s constitutional mandate—the protection and restoration of
native salmonids, fish and wildlife habitat, watersheds, and water
quality. A Board representative will be at the hearing to receive
public comment and to answer questions about the proposed
conservation easement. Representatives from the Williams
Creek Watershed Council, Southern Oregon Land Conservancy,
and Josephine County will also be present to answer questions
and discuss the management plan for the property. Call Melissa
Leoni at (503) 986-0179 if you have questions, or will require
special accommodations at the hearing.

Wisdom at its
finest:
*How do you
decide whom to
marry?
-You got to find
somebody who likes
the same stuff. Like,
if you like sports, she
should like it that you
like sports, and she
should keep the chips
and dip coming.
(Alan, age 10)
-No person really
decides before they
grow up who they’re
going to marry. God
decides it all way
before, and you get to
find out later who
you’re stuck with.
(Kirsten, age 10)
*What is the
right age to get mar-
ried?
-Twenty-three is
the best age because
you know the person
forever by then.
(Camille, age 10)
