The bill, sponsored by Rep. Bill Garrard (R-Klamath Falls) now heads to the Sen- ate. The purpose of HB 2671 is to allow for the develop- ment of a generation facility by the Peoples Energy Re- source Corp o ration in Klamath County. The capital investment in this project is estimated at $676 million. The project will create 400 new construction jobs for the 23- month construction project and will result in a minimum of 10 permanent employee positions that are 150 percent of the county annual average. A key factor for the Peo- ples Energy Resource Corp. in determining whether it will place the facility in Klamath County is the availability of property tax abatement. This legislation is intended to pro- vide the necessary tax incen- tive for the company to choose Oregon. TOP MOVIES 1. Basic starring John Travolta Rated: R 2. Head Of State Chris Rock PG-13 3.
