Sunday, Nov. 10 *Robert Edwin Webb, 22, was cited on a charge of defec- tive lighting on a motor vehicle in rural Cave Junction. Monday, Nov. 11 *A 911 hang-up call came from the 200 block of Ray- mond Drive at 12:32 a.m. *No injuries were reported from a crash in the 5300 block of Holland Loop Road at 1:28 a.m. *A woman in the 100 block of Hogue Drive complained that a 17-year-old boy was out of control. *Someone said that a tran- sient was sleeping at the front door of a business in the 400 block of S. Junction Avenue. *Three teen-age boys were arrested on charges of first- degree burglary and first- degree criminal mischief after they were located in a vacant house in the 100 block of Hol- ton Creek Road. The three ju- veniles were transported to Jo- sephine County Jail. *A disturbance in the 600 block of Deer Creek Road was reported at 1:56 p.m. *Illegal cutting of trees was reported in the 5200 block of Dick George Road at 2:32 p.m. It was later found to be a mis- understanding. *Deputies conducted Com- munity Oriented Policing and extra patrol at various locations at varied times around the val- ley today and during other days in this report. *Theft of tools from the 6000 block of Westside Road was reported. Tuesday, Nov. 12 *At a valley school, it was said that a man tried to get a complainant to change a state- ment by the man’s daughter about an accusation of a sexual offense. *In Cave Junction a man was taken into custody under a peace officer’s mental hold af- ter threatening to either cut his throat or blow off his head. *A woman in CJ com- plained about possible violation of a stalking order. *Various fishing items were found at the sheriff’s sub- station in CJ. *In rural CJ, a woman said that she gave someone a bunch of credit card information via e- mail, but that it could be a sting operation. *Someone in rural Cave Junction said that three men came to his house and that one “pulled a gun,” forced their way in, and demanded a ride to Washington state. *A check of a Millie Street address was made in connec- tion with a bad check. *Austin Pedro, 23, was cited at the south end of CJ on charges of no insurance and failure to register a vehicle. *Someone underwent a field interrogation at 8:49 p.m. at “Forks” State Park. *Following a report of an assault on Deer Creek Road, a report was pending on assault IV and reckless endangering. *A mother at work in CJ said that her son had been as- saulted at a friend’s residence. *Brent Benschoter, 32, was cited in CJ on charges of driv- ing-while-suspended (DWS) violation and no liability insur- ance at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 *Tana Rae Goss, 19, a transient, was arrested by Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety (GPDPS) officers on a charge of second-degree as- sault. Christy Ann Orcutt, 25, also a transient, had suffered knife wounds to her head and one hand. *Following a report of a suspicious pickup truck in the 7000 block of Takilma Road at 3:15 a.m., it was gone. *Loose horses caused a traffic problem near milepost 22 of Redwood Hwy. at 8:18 a.m. One Shetland pony appar- ently was struck by a car, but was said to be unhurt. *After a complaint that someone was cutting down a tree at the north end of CJ, both parties were advised of civil options. The original complain- ant also reported a threat of having the three dropped on her and her car. *A woman said that her husband punched their young child in the stomach. *Dennis Hofer, 47, was cited on a charge of possession of less than an ounce of mari- juana on Holland Loop. *There was a civil matter involving a CJ woman and an out-of-state business and the woman’s “NSF” check. *Subsequent to a trespass- ing complaint on Deer Creek Road, Caryn Gumaer, 37, was arrested on two charges each of menacing and reckless endan- gering; and one charge of unlawful use of a weapon. *A motorist was warned for driving 65 mph in a 25 mph zone in Selma. Thursday, Nov. 14 *After hearing a thump on his residence at 1:43 a.m. on N. Old Stage Road, a man said that he found a roll of toilet tissue that someone apparently had set afire. Two juvenile peo- ple are suspected. *Despite a report of a loose horse on Caves Hwy. between White School Road and Sawyer Avenue, one was not located. *Several drivers warned about driving too fast on E. River Street near I.V. High School around 7 a.m. *When a woman who had been in an accident couldn’t be contacted by telephone, people were concerned. It turned out that the family had just gotten Internet access and tied up the telephone. *In the 21000 block of Redwood Hwy. a driver whose throttle came undone was as- sisted. *Receipt of a $114 “NSF” check was reported by a busi- ness on Lister Street. *After a report of a student out of control at IVHS, he was counseled, and his parents came to school. *On S. Old Stage Road a resident was sure that a possi- bly intoxicated driver was the same one who knocked down his mailbox last week. *A woman who had been “trespassed” from S. Junction Avenue returned. *First-degree burglary was reported by a man on W. River Street. *What looked like a struc- ture fire on Sherwood Avenue turned out to be a situation where a bunch of newspapers somehow ignited, filling the house with smoke. *First-degree burglary was reported on Lone Mountain Road. *On Redwood Hwy. in Kerby a dead deer was re- ported. Wildlife Images was contacted. *Near milepost 26 of Red- wood Hwy. at 6:42 p.m. a car was “all over the road.” Friday, Nov. 15 *Loss of a $300 cell phone at a CJ business was reported by regular phone. *After a report of people hitting each other and throwing things on W. River Street, Re- becca McDowell, 22, was ar- rested on a charge of fourth- degree assault/domestic. *A report on domestic vio- lence was pending after a report of same on Rockydale Road in which it was said that a man dragged a woman back as she tried to run, and threw her to the ground. *There was a report from Kerby that a woman used an- other woman’s name to get credit cards, and then charged expensive items in a case of ID theft. *Burglary on Lone Moun- tain Road was logged. *When a deputy checked a woman at 10:16 p.m. at Redwood Hwy. and Westside Road he found that she was “cooling down.” *Wildlife Images was ad- vised of a dead deer near 1200 Caves Hwy. Friday, Nov. 15 *Several gunshots, possi- bly from a rifle, were reported at 12:15 a.m. on Hogue Drive. *Domestic violence was checked at 4:57 a.m. on Wild Park Lane, but found to be an erroneous report. *After being told that she couldn’t have back the crib she loaned some six months ago, a woman in Cave Junc- tion got it back after contact- ing the sheriff’s office. *Reported harassment determined to be not a crime, involving a horse, was noted on Caves Hwy. *It was termed a civil matter on Deer Creek Road after a resident said that young children were taking items from a storage trailer. *When a deputy contacted people on Westside Road about a family emergency, they’d already been notified. *Jacque Baty, 32, was cited on a DWS charge on Westside Road. *Following a traffic stop on Deer Creek Road at 4:41 p.m. the driver said that he didn’t stop immediately be- cause of mud on his car. *After being flagged down near milepost 25 of Redwood Hwy., a deputy was told by the people that they didn’t want to talk to him. *After a man reportedly ran over a newspaper box on Holton Creek Road, he could- n’t be located. *Today and during other days in this report, a number of drivers were warned about infractions including failure to dim lights, inoperative light- ing, and driving too fast for prevailing conditions. Saturday, Nov. 16 *Some sort of situation involving a restraining order was noted on Dick George Road. *A girl was “verbally out of control” on Lorna Byrne Middle School. *Duane Hadley, 33, was cited on a charge of driving 67 mph in a 45 zone in Selma. *When a man fell at a CJ tavern, he refused medical attention. *Landlord/tenant prob- lems were logged on Dick George Road. *Landlord/tenant prob- lems were logged on Deer Creek Road. *Vandalism to a locked gate at Jubilee Park for the pavilion was reported. *Near Jubilee Park a man pulled over without a deputy trying to stop him. The man was warned about DWS. *Because a man was sit- ting in bushes watching a woman as his children left a residence in rural CJ, the woman reported violation of a restraining order. *Another deceased deer was reported, this one at Caves Hwy. and Holland Loop. *Harassment was reported on Dick George Road. *Custodial interference was the subject of a complaint on Rockydale Road. *Neither injuries nor property damage were re- ported after a pickup truck went into a ditch on Deer Creek Road at 10:08 p.m.
