COUGARS CHOKE HONKERS - Illinois Valley High School Cougars smacked Lakeview 40-8 in the final and non-league game of the season in Cave Junc- tion on Saturday, Nov. 2. Natty Krauss (in top left photo) rushed for 175 yards on 27 carries to lead the Cougars. For the season the junior running back tal- lied 1,007 yards. Against the Honkers, Krauss and Mike Pagnotta teamed for a combined 312 yards and five of I.V.’s six touchdowns. Pagnotta amassed 137 yards on 17 carries, with TD runs of 3, 11 and 58 yards. Also scoring for the Cougs was Ian Moore who ran in the ball eight yards in the fourth quarter. The Cougars netted 482 yards vs. Lakeview’s 94 yards. Led by first-year coach Bob Thornhill, Illinois Valley had a 4-5 overall record; 2-4 in the Skyline Con- ference.
