Elders party, continued from page 1 The elder’s department staff worked hard to throw a successful Christmas party honoring our tribal elders on December 11. The event was well attended, creating a warm and festive atmosphere filled with laughter and joy. This annual event is a great opportunity for fun and food. Party goers enjoyed a spaghetti meal with sides, followed by several activities including a cake walk, gift exchange, raffle prizes, and some competitive rounds of bingo. A photo area with props added to the excite- ment, giving everyone a chance to capture memories of the day. The highlight of the celebration wasn’t just the delicious food or the prizes, it was the good times shared by all. The program staff invited two great groups to fill the room with music and cheer. This included the Siletz Head Start class, who sang Christmas songs. While the students from Siletz Valley School brought cultural pride with their tribal drum class, They even drummed a fun Christmas song for the elders. These performances made the day truly special. And the event reminded us that the greatest gift is not bingo, it is joy and community.
