All Tribal cultural events canceled for 2020; virtual activities to be established
All Tribal cultural events for 2020
have been canceled. It was a very difficult
decision, but we cannot practice social
distancing with the cultural events.
The Culture Department will develop
several virtual activities, including a virtual
Run to the Rogue and a virtual Culture
Camp, on the Tribal member only section
of the Tribe’s website. These will include
videos, photographs and historical infor-
mation regarding the Run to the Rogue.
For Culture Camp, staff will develop
some “how-to” videos as well as gather
links to existing how-to videos on You-
Tube and other virtual platforms. They
also will provide contact information
on where Tribal members can order or
purchase supplies.
Tribal members should sign in to the
Tribal member only section for updates
and links to information. The Tribe’s web-
site can be accessed at ctsi.nsn.us.
The Tribal Culture Department looks
forward to coming together next year.
Council authorizes one-time economic
impact payment for Tribal adults
The Tribal Council has authorized a one-time economic impact payment to all
Tribal members age 18 and older as of May 19, 2020. The economic impact payment
may be taxable and may be countable as an income resource.
Tribal members are encouraged to make sure they have their address up to date
with the Enrollment Department. You can contact them at 541-444-8258 or 800-922-
1399, ext. 1258.
The economic impact payments will be mailed out by June 15.
Tribe to provide mortgage, rent relief
Siletz Tribal Head Start students’ favorite song this year was about kindness.
This sweet gesture is a reflection of what they feel kindness is and the many
ways they could show kindness every day.
Limited rent and mortgage relief is available to Siletz households that have been
negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Assistance is a one-time payment to the Siletz household’s landlord or mortgage
company. Assistance is available anywhere in the United States and is available to
low-income and non-low-income households.
An application is required. It is available on the Tribe’s website (ctsi.nsn.us; Hous-
ing) and can be submitted to:
