Construction of Nesika Illahee (Our Place) apartments is under way
In 2018, the Confederated Tribes of
Siletz Indians began discussions with
the Native American Youth and Family
Center (NAYA) on a potential partner-
ship opportunity to provide affordable
housing in Portland, Ore., for Siletz
Tribal members.
A limited partnership was formed
to develop a 59-unit apartment complex
known as Nesika Illahee. Through the
Tribal contribution of Indian Housing
Block Grant funds to Nesika Illahee, this
will be the first housing project in Portland
to have units designated specifically for
American Indian families.
The unit mix is 13 studios, 30 one-
bedroom, nine two-bedroom and seven
3-bedroom apartments. NAYA and the
Native American Rehabilitation Associa-
tion Northwest will provide a multitude of
on-site services that focus on the needs of
the Native community.

NE Holman and 42 nd Avenue in Port-
land’s Cully neighborhood. It is near
NAYA, a beautiful city park and Portland
Community College’s workforce center,
close to community resources for resi-

STRCP has loans available for Tribal members
As a reminder, the Siletz Tribe Revolving Credit Program (STRCP) has consumer,
home improvement and business loans available for Tribal members. Additionally,
STRCP continues to report all loans to the TransUnion Credit Bureau on a monthly
basis, which improves your credit score with on-time payments.
The STRCP Board of Directors has set new base interest rates: Consumer loans
are 12.5%, home improvement loans are 10.5% and business loans are 9.5%. These
rates are subject to change.
