Chairman’s Report
Salem Intertribal Project opens
new opportunities for members
On behalf of our Tribe, I am so proud
to be leading the Salem Intertribal Project,
an unprecedented opportunity for Oregon
Tribes to work together to build the state’s
first intertribal entertainment and gaming
facility in North Salem.
For the past two years, we have worked
to build a comprehensive agreement that
will generate millions in revenue and new
opportunities for our members and the
surrounding community.
For our 5,100 members, this project is
so much more than a casino on our Tribal
trust land. Beginning in 2019, the con-
struction of the facility will bring trans-
portation and infrastructure improvements
to the surrounding area and an estimated
2,295 construction jobs.
Upon opening in 2021, the facility
will generate 1,300 new, living-wage jobs
and millions in revenue to support health
care, education, environmental, housing
and transportation programs critical to
our Tribal community.
We know that when we work together
as one Tribal community, we can achieve
more for you and the entire community.
Our Tribe’s leadership is working hard to
secure the partnership of all of the other
eight Oregon Tribes in the Salem Inter-
tribal Project.
In addition to millions in revenue,
comprehensive participation by Oregon
Tribes in this project means we will
redirect gaming revenue currently going
across the border into Southwest Wash-
ington. We have had a series of positive
discussions with Oregon Tribal leaders the
past few months and we feel confident we
will begin securing partners soon.

As a Tribal community, we have a
responsibility to preserve and grow jobs
and revenue in Oregon. The Salem Inter-

achieve this and so much more. I hope you
will share my excitement for the opportu-
nities this project brings to our community
for generations to come.
