    Delmar Lindsey Butler Sr. – 1932-2015
Delmar “The Stud” Lindsey Butler
Sr., 83, passed away June 19, 2015, in
Springfield, Ore., from pneumonia. He
was born January 12, 1932, to Alton
Butler and Ella (Brown) Simmons in
Toledo, Ore. He was a member of the
Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.
He attended school in Siletz, Ore.,
and at Chemawa Indian Boarding School
in Salem, Ore.
Delmar met the love of his life, Pris-
cilla Lockwood, in 1950. They were mar-
ried Dec. 9, 1955, in Stevenson, Wash. He
moved his family to Reedsport, Ore., in
1958, where he became a well-known and
respected logger, retiring in 1995.
Delmar was a wonderful husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
uncle, brother and friend. He enjoyed
being with his grandchildren and great-
grandchildren, and watching the children
play in sports activities. He liked to go for
drives and read books.
Words cannot express how much he
will be missed!
Delmar is survived by his loving
wife of 59 years, Priscilla; sons, Delmer
Butler Jr. of Siletz, Brent Butler of
Eugene, Ore., Dent (Todd) Butler of Lin-
coln City, Ore., and Kent Butler and Barry
Butler of Reedsport; daughter, Ella Fisher
of Reedsport and grandson Brett Butler,
who he raised like his own; special niece
and nephew, Sonya Moody-Jurado and
Brian Moody; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-
grandchildren with two on the way; six
brothers, Reginald and wife Lillie Butler,
Ronald Butler Sr., Charles and wife Salley

flowers during our time of loss.

Clatskanie, Ore.; five sisters, Nancy Sim-
mons, Elouise Case and Sylvia Butler of
Siletz, Elaine Thomas of Dallas, Ore., and
Patricia and husband Jim Fredrickson of
Otis, Ore. Also surviving are numerous
loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; his step-father Calvin Simmons
Sr.; his brothers, Nathaniel Butler, Alfred
Butler and Darwin Simmons; sister
Leonda Villegas; and great-granddaughter
Ahnika Mitchell-Blondell.
The family requests that remem-
brances be donations to Dunes Memorial
Chapel, 2300 Frontage Road, Reedsport,
OR 97467 to assist with funeral expenses.

Warren Wesley (Scott) Woods
March 27, 1935 - August 5, 2015

Warren passed suddenly at his home in Otis Oregon. Warren was born to James and
Pansy Woods on March 27, 1935 in Portland, Oregon. He graduated in 1953 from
Lebanon High School. In 1953 he joined the Marine Corps. After his tour of duty, he
attended Multnomah College in Portland Oregon. In 1959 he went into business at
Chemawa Store. In 1964 he moved his family to San Diego, California and sent into the
bar business for 25 years. He attended Coleman College in San Diego. After graduation he
was employed at North Island Naval Air Station where he retired in 1997. He moved back
to Oregon in 2000 and remained retired in Otis Oregon.
He married his high school sweet heart Donna Mae Lane on March 2, 1954 and they have
two children. Cindy (Carl) Jackson, Salem, Oregon and Rachenda (Hector) Reynosa, Salem
Oregon. 4 grandchildren: Jenera (Daniel) Healy, Jeremy (Beth) Hill, James (Angela)
Devenberg, and Joshua (Elizabeth) Devenberg; 7 great-grandchildren: Aiden Healy, Sam
Healy, Madison Healy, Sierra Hill, Liam Hill, Thalia Devenberg and Xavier Devenberg.

Tribal ID Machine
The Tribal ID machine will be unavail-
able in the Siletz administration office on
Sept. 15-16. It is available all other office
days in Siletz during September.
Missing Moccasins
What is a “Missing Moccasin”? This
is a Tribal member who has an invalid

address on file with the Siletz Enrollment
Department. The Enrollment Department
has received mail back for the Tribal mem-
ber as undeliverable.
Enrollment staff will attempt to
contact the Tribal member at the most
recently provided phone number. Once
it is determined there is no way to get a
message to the Tribal member, he/she will
be added to the Missing Moccasin list for
publication in Siletz News.
In order to receive any mail from the
Tribal administration building, includ-
ing newsletters and per capita checks,
the Tribal member must submit his/her
address change on Enrollment’s “Tribal
Member Information Change Form.”
For safety reasons, address changes
are no longer accepted over the phone.
As of Aug. 19, 2015, there are 48
ADULT Missing Moccasins. If you are
on this list, please update immediately.
There are also children with invalid
addresses. If you are not receiving the
quarterly statements of your child’s trust
account, he/she may have an invalid
address on file. Children’s names are not
publicly published, however there are 99
CHILDREN Missing Moccasins.

If you know someone on this list, please
ask them to contact the Enrollment Depart-
ment to have a form sent to them. The
form also is available on the Tribal website
at ctsi.nsn.us under Government Listings
and Enrollment, or at our Tribal offices in
Eugene, Portland, Salem and Siletz.
