Meet the young women seeking to represent Tribe as 2015-16 Siletz Royalty
Felisha Howell
Candidate for Junior
Miss Siletz
SuSun Fisher, Candidate for Junior Miss Siletz
I am SuSun Fisher. I am 16 years old and attend Chemawa Indian School, where
I will enter my junior year this September.
I am the daughter of Tammy Fisher and Erin Case Jr. I am of the Shasta, Tututni
and Rogue River bands, also descending from the Grand Ronde Tribe and Salish
Kootenai Tribe of the Flathead Nation.
I enjoy traveling to pow-wows, conferences and youth gatherings. I love to play
softball. I am a WeRNative youth ambassador.
As the reigning Miss Siletz, I was chosen to represent the Tribe as a White House Tribal
Youth Ambassador this past December at the White House Tribal Nations Conference.
I chose to run for royalty because I’m thankful for our Tribe and this is a way for
me to give back. This is not just a hobby for me, it is something I am very passionate
about and something dear to my heart.
I believe in leading by example and I want to show our Native youth all of the oppor-
tunities out there for them, not only within our Tribe but in all of Indian Country as well.
Thank you for the opportunity to be a candidate for Junior Miss Siletz and if
chosen, I will do my very best to represent you all.
Hello, everyone! My name is Felisha
Howell and I am 16 years old.
I am the daughter of Brenda and Jerry
Howell and Tesha Clawson. My bands
are the Tututunne, Sixes, Smith River
and Tolowa.
Some of my hobbyies include going
to youth camps, leadership camps and
various others. I love to go on the trips
that the Tribe presents to us youth, I like
helping out with community events and
going to pow-wows and feather dances.
Sports I play are volleyball, basketball
and softball.
For this upcoming school year, I
will be a junior at Siletz Valley Early
College Academy.
I want to be Junior Miss Siletz
because I would love to not only repre-
sent my family and community but my
Tribe as well. I also would love to go to
other places and experience the different
types of culture that are presented there
and I would love to teach others about
Siletz culture.
I think that being Junior Miss Siletz
would be a great opportunity for me to
network and meet other youth in the dif-
ferent Tribal communities.
Halli Lane-Skauge, Candidate for Little Miss Siletz
Jocelyn Hernandez, Candidate for Little Miss Siletz
Hello, my name is Jocelyn Hernandez and I am running for Little Miss Siletz
2015-2016.
I am 12 years old and am going into the seventh grade.
My great-great-grandpa is Dewey Washington and my great-grandmother is Vir-
ginia Washington. My grandfather is Duane Endres. My mother is Rachelle Endres
and my father is Robert Hernandez.
I am running for Little Miss Siletz for a few reasons. One, I love to travel to differ-
ent places and represent my Tribe in a good way. I feel that with my past experience,
I am a great role model to all other Tribal youth. I love to serve my Elders and sit and
listen to their stories.
I love sports, especially basketball and softball. Dancing jingle in pow-wows and
feather dance also are some of my passions.
I hope to see you all at our pow-wow during the second weekend in August.
Thank you!
