charge. Golf cart fees are $10 per seat for 9 holes and $15 per seat for 18 holes.
Tribal members also receive a 50 percent discount on lessons from golf
pro Larry Dealy and a 20 percent discount on merchandise (certain restrictions apply).

Martinez named director of food
and beverage at Chinook Winds
John Martinez has joined the Chi-
nook Winds Casino Resort team as the
new director of food and beverage. He
has more than 30 years of management
experience and will oversee all food and
beverage outlets for the resort.
“I am excited about joining the execu-
tive management team at the Chinook
Winds Casino Resort. The potential for
the property is tremendous and I am eager
to roll up my sleeves and go to work,”
said Martinez.
“We welcome John Martinez to our
Chinook Winds director team. He brings
with him years of experience in the food
industry and we are looking forward to his
fresh outlook to our dining and banquet
departments,” said Mike Fisher, Chinook
Winds general manager.
Martinez first started in the casino
industry as a slot host at the Lady Luck
in downtown Las Vegas. He moved up the
ranks and was promoted to executive host.
“I was one of the youngest executive
hosts in Las Vegas. I was a young man
in Las Vegas, working with the casino’s
high rollers and having the time of my
young life,” said Martinez. “That was an
incredible job and I learned a great deal
about the gaming business.”
He moved with the company to Mis-
sissippi and was part of the management
startup team for one of the first riverboats
in Mississippi.
Martinez and his wife started a res-
taurant in Albuquerque while he was still
working in the gaming industry. While
he was running the San Felipe gaming
operations, his wife was building their
restaurant into a viable business.
Eventually, Martinez left the casino
to join his wife and grow their restau-
rant operation into a five-store outlet in

restaurant would go on to win numerous
industry awards.
Martinez’s last position was as the
program manager at the University of
New Mexico in Albuquerque. He worked
with medical practices and school-based
health centers throughout the state as
a change management expert, helping
them institute systematic and sustainable
changes to improve their practices.
Martinez takes over one of the largest
departments at Chinook Winds.
“My wife and I couldn’t be more
excited about the move to the Oregon
Coast. It is just so green and beautiful
here, very different from New Mexico.
The food and beverage director has a great
deal of responsibility to the property, to
the customers and to the many employees
who come in each day and do their best
to provide the best food possible,” said
Martinez. “I am looking forward to utiliz-
ing all my skills to make improvements to
the department, to continue to develop the
food and beverage department’s employ-
ees and for my wife and I become part of
the Lincoln City community.”
