Chinook winds taps Trachsel as director of compliance
Trevor Trachsel has been named
director of compliance at Chinook Winds
Casino Resort. This move is a natural one
as he has been a compliance agent for the
Siletz Tribal Gaming Commission since
August 2007.
Beginning Dec. 30, he became
responsible for ensuring that Chinook
Winds is in compliance with gaming
regulations and company policies and
procedures.
Trachsel received a bachelor’s of
science degree from the University of
Oregon in 1997. He is a Siletz Tribal
member and was raised in the Siletz com-
munity. He moved back to Siletz in 2002
and still calls it home.

Jessyca Downey is from Portland,
Ore., and graduated from Sunset High
School in Beaverton, Ore., in 2009. She
then enrolled at the University of Oregon,
majoring in human physiology. She grad-
uated from UO on June 17, 2013, with a
bachelor’s of science degree.
Jessyca was a model student and
maintained a high GPA while attending
UO. She is considering a return to the
university to enroll in the Sapsik’ w ala’
(Teacher) Education Project at the College
of Education.

regulation and a collaborative work ethic.
With this new position, he can apply
his understanding for the necessity of
gaming regulation to ensure that Chinook
Winds remains in compliance while maxi-
mizing profits.
“I’m really excited to bring my skill
set and new perspective to this position,”
said Trachsel when asked about his imme-
diate plans for the future. “Everybody has
done an incredible job at making me feel
welcome here. It’s a true testament to the
team concept at Chinook Winds.”

the commission, he will truly be an asset
to our casino team,” said Mike Fisher,
general manager of the casino properties.

Our beloved Katherine Porter passed on Jan. 5. Her mother, Connie Hartt
(Clemmie), and her entire family truly appreciate the kind offerings that
have brought such comfort to us during this very sad time. To the Portland Elders
in particular, when that van drove up the driveway it was all we could do to hold
it together.
Kathy would have had the biggest smile to know that her Tribal family and
friends took the time to come and celebrate her life and memories with us.
