emergency Housing Assistance opens Jan. 1, not available again until 2015

The Siletz Tribal Housing Depart-
ment’s Emergency Housing Assistance
(EHA) program will begin accepting
applications Jan. 1. No applications will
be accepted early.
Applications are available through
the Siletz Tribal Housing Department, the
Tribal website and all area offices.
This program is operated on a first-
come, first-served basis. Only completed
applications will be processed and served.
If your application is not complete, funds
will not be held for you.
Once the funds are depleted, the pro-
gram will close and will not reopen until
the next funding cycle in January 2015.
Service district is throughout all of
the United States.

EHA can be used to enable a Tribal
member/Tribal family to get into a
permanent home if there is a situation
of homelessness. Homeless is having
no personal residence or if the person/

2014 Standing Committee Applications Due
Deadline for consideration for committees is Jan. 31, 2014
Any Tribal member interested in serving on a committee for a two-year
term must fill out the following form and return it to the address below prior to
Jan. 31, 2014. Please mail or fax your application to Confederated Tribes of
Siletz Indians, Attn: Executive Secretary to Tribal Council, P.O. Box 549, Siletz,
OR 97380-0549; fax: 541-444-8325.

move from one residence to another
without good cause.
EHA is available every three years,
to the date. Your application will not
be set aside until your date comes
up and it will not be accepted if you
apply early.
Your application must be complete
and you must comply with all stipu-
lations of the program (income veri-
fication, proof of Tribal enrollment,
Social Security card copies and proof
of household composition) before
funds will be payable.
If you are homeless and are approved
for assistance, you will have 14 days

in which to find a place to live, obtain
a rental agreement and get informa-
tion to STHD to process payment.

If you are facing eviction, you must
have a signed 72-hour eviction notice
from a landlord or rental property.

If you are facing foreclosure, you
must have proper documentation
from the mortgage lender in order
to process.

Assistance cannot be provided to
those already participating in Low
Rent, Mutual Help and Rental Assis-
tance programs.
