guarded our freedom.
To the editor:
The Siletz Valley School Board and administration would like to acknowledge the
Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians for their charitable contribution.
The Siletz Valley Charter School (K-8) and Siletz Valley Early College Academy
(9-12) received $264,000 in donations through the Siletz Tribal Charitable Fund from
the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. This generous donation helped support
classroom instruction, technology services, athletics, special community events and
college preparation and career-readiness of our students.
We thank you.

Sam Tupou, administrator
To the editor:
1 would like to thank the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund for a grant
awarded to the Siletz Backpack Program that is able to provide food for children
when school is not in service. Over weekends and holidays, “kid friendly” foods were
provided to these children by the contributions from wonderful organizations such as
the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund.
1 am one of the many ladies from the Sacred Ground Baptist Church in Siletz who
packed these backpacks each week. The funds awarded to the program enabled many
children to eat when school meals were unavailable.
What a satisfying and rewarding enterprise this is to be funded by this charitable
organization.
Thank you.
