Siletz Tribal Head Start
The Natural Resources Committee has set and the Tribal Council has approved
the following as the schedule and methods for distribution of this year’s hunting and
fishing tags to Tribal members:

* No early calls to “save” a tag for someone. Must physically show up to obtain
tag. A waiting list will be developed for the late season hunt if all of the early season
tags are issued.
** Season for youth age 12-17 is 10/3-11/8 (two days extra at end of season).
Siletz Cultural Day Camp
July 14-16
Applications are due no later than June 22, 2009

Head Start students in Siletz enjoy two
weeks of swimming lessons,
followed by a year-end barbeque at a
park in Toledo. The Head Start Parent
Committee received funding for this
from the Siletz Tribal Charitable
Contribution Fund.

STCCF Advisory Board Recruitment
The Siletz Tribal Charitable Contri­
bution Fund Board currently is accepting
applications from Tribal members for a
three-year appointment beginning June
2009 through May 2012. Applications
must be received before June 5, 2009.
The Advisory Board is composed of
seven unpaid volunteers who receive travel
reimbursement only for attendance at meet­
ings and distributions. Other public relations
events also are eligible for reimbursement.
The Advisory Board meets quar­
terly (January, April, July and October)
to review approximately 100 applications
received from charitable organizations
or local governments within the Siletz
Tribe’s service area and Native American
entities or activities located anywhere in
the United States for the following pur­
poses: education, health, public safety,
gambling addiction, prevention, drug and
alcohol treatment, housing, the arts, the
environment and natural resource preser­
vation, cultural activities, historic preser­
vation and other charitable purposes.
Tribal programs are not eligible to
receive contributions pursuant to the
Distribution of Net Revenues Ordinances
and Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) between the State of Oregon and
the Siletz Tribe.
Applications must be submitted by
June 5, 2009 to be considered for ap­
pointment at the Regular Tribal Council
meeting in June. If you have any ques­

Pre-registration is required to receive a T-shirt!
This is a day camp only unless you are traveling from the Eugene, Salem or
Portland areas or from outside of the service area. Parents/Guardians are welcome
to attend and are responsible for dropping off and picking up children at appropriate
times. Children age 10 or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
