The Natural Resources Committee
Do you have suggestions for improving the Siletz community and the lives
of tribal members living here and elsewhere? Do you have ideas on potential
grant opportunities that could improve tribal facilities, utilities or services?
The CTSI Planning Department is beginning a process to prioritize where
we should seek out grant money for tribal programs, development and improve
ment of such things as roads, housing and services.

I understand I must be an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of
Siletz Indians of Oregon and 18 years of age or older. This application must
be filed with the Election Board by 4 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2007. 1 also under
stand that if for any reason I decide to withdraw my application for Siletz
Tribal Council, I must withdraw in writing by Dec. 23, 2007. Otherwise, my
name will appear in the voter’s pamphlet and on the ballot.

Voter’s Pamphlet & Statement
If you would like your candidate’s statement and photo to appear in the
voter's pamphlet, please submit your statement and recent 3x5 photograph
of yourself along with your application. Deadline for statements and pho
tos is Dec. 18, 2007, at 4 p.m. Statements and photos will appear only in the
voter’s pamphlet. Mail your statement and photo to:

We once again have reached the
time of year when it's very important
to pay attention to your scheduled ap
pointment time. For example, all Siletz
Tribal offices will be closed Nov. 12
for Veterans Day. Nov. 19 for Restora
tion Day, Nov. 22 for Thanksgiving
Day and Nov. 23 also. For that reason,
we will distribute in the Salem ware
house a week early, starting Nov 13.

Elder and Disabled Persons are First
Priority for Energy Assistance
Energy assistance through the tribe's Low-Income Home Energy Assistance
Program (LIHEAP) was prioritized first to elder and disabled tribal members in
October. All other tribal households will be served beginning Nov. 1.
Eligibility for LIHEAP services is based on income. If you meet the income
eligibility requirements (see table below) and need energy assistance, please call
the tribal office for your area to schedule an appointment. Phone numbers and
