Veterans Information
Once again, thanks goes to the
Siletz Tribal Council for approving
funding for desktops and a limited
number of laptops for college students.
Tribal staff is working on obtain
ing quotes for price per individual unit
in order to obtain the most com
puter for the least amount of
money. These will be new.
state-of-the-art comput
ers. Bid responses will
go to the Tribal Coun
cil in July for award
ing a contract based
on the bids received.
Staff and council
are aware that the first
computers purchased are
beginning to fail because of use
and time. The components are outdated
at five years old and the cost to repair
them is nearly as high as purchasing a
new one.
In addition to providing laptops for
eligible college students and desktops
to tribal member households that have
not received one previously. Tribal
Council approved purchasing a limited
number of replacement computers for
tribal member households that received
one in 2002.
Households that are non
tribal but have legal cus
tody of a tribal child are
eligible to apply on be
half of that tribal
child (NIC applica
tion). The adult is re
sponsible for all taxes
associated with receipt
of the computer and if
the child should leave the
home, the computer must go
with the tribal child.

I would like to thank all the veter
ans who participated in this year's Me
morial Day celebration on Government
Hill. The wind teased us a bit, but we
made it through. The rifle squad was
the finishing touch.
Thank you, Sar Richards, for par
ticipating in the Honor Guard and also
as the keynote speaker.
