Nominate Oregon Teacher of the Year
The Oregon Department of Education is accepting nominations for the
2007-08 Oregon Teacher of the Year until July 17, 2007.
Anyone can nominate a candidate for the Oregon Teacher of the Year. A
candidate, however, cannot nominate him/herself.
To nominate a teacher, go to the ODE Web site and fill out the "Talent Pool
Recommendation" form at www.ode.state.or.us/go/TOY. At the end of the talent
pool recommendation, click the box to nominate the individual for the Oregon
Teacher of the Year.
A panel consisting of legislators, former Teachers of the Year, business lead
ers, and key education leaders will select the finalists. Representatives of the
state superintendent's office will interview them, and State Superintendent Su
san Castillo will select the Oregon Teacher of the Year.
The 2007-08 Oregon Teacher of the Year will be announced in September.
