Siletz Charitable
Fund Distributes
$125,000
The Siletz Tribal Charitable Con­
tribution Fund made another round of
distributions on Feb. 2 and the seven­
member advisory board has distributed
more than $2.9 million since its incep­
tion in 2001.
Thirty-one organizations shared
$125.026.10 in contributions when
checks were presented at Chinook
Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City,
Ore. This includes $21,262 for South
Puget Sound Community College to
analyze more than 7,800 ancient wood
and fiber artifacts discovered on Sauvie
Island near Portland. Ore.; $20.000 for
the University of Oregon School of
Law/UofO Foundation for the Oregon
Tribes Professorship to boost scholar­
ship. research, public service, and aca­
demic offerings in Indian law; $12,000
for the Seal Rock Fire District to pur­
chase a Zoll M-Series heart monitor;
and $12,000 for the Coastal Commu­
nities Cultural Center to help restore the
east entrance of the former DeLake
Elementary School building,
The Siletz Tribe is proud of its con­
tributions through employment, mon­
etary donations, and cooperative mea­
sures to the Siletz community, Lincoln
County, and the state of Oregon. The
tribe has honored its tradition of shar­
ing within the community by distrib­
uting more than $5.1 million through
the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribu­
tion Fund and other tribal resources.
Chinook Winds has donated more than
$1.25 million in cash and fund-raising
items since it opened in 1995. The ca­
sino also provides in-kind donations of
convention space for various fund-rais­
ers as well as technical support, adver­
tising. and manpower for many events.
Eligibility for money from the
Charitable Contribution Fund is limited
to two categories:

Entities and activities located in the
Siletz Tribe’s I I-county service
area (Lincoln. Tillamook, Linn,
Lane, Benton, Polk, Yamhill,
Marion, Multnomah, Washington,
and Clackamas counties)
Native American entities and activi­
ties located anywhere in the United
States
The next deadline to submit
applications is March 16. 2097.

Yaquina View Elementary School - replace/install new “grand drape” in the auditorium
