Ore., on Nov. 11, 2006, weighing 7
pounds, 12% ounces, and measuring
20'/2 inches long.
Proud parents are Stephanie and
Scott Bardelli. Grandparents are Mari
and Steve Woosley, Anne Kennedy,
and Jack Bardelli; and great-grandpa
is Fearn Blacketer.

Trae Messiah Strong Mackaravitz

We are proud to announce the arrival of our newest family members.
Trae Messiah Strong Mackaravitz was born Oct. 1 1, 2006. Proud parents are
Jared Alan Mackaravitz and Erica Bustamante. Trae also has a sister. 5-year-old
Alize Jaide.
On Nov. 28, 2006. Siena Rae Mackaravitz was born. Her proud parents are
Shayn Mackaravitz Jr. and Jana O'Dell, from Salem, Ore.
Delbert Wayne
Bell
1939 - 2006
Delbert Wayne Bell was born to
Angeline Rippen Bell and Arthur
Lincoln Bell on Aug. 25, I939, in
Chemewa, Ore. He was the I l,h of 12
children born to the couple. A younger
brother died in infancy, making Delbert
the youngest child in the family.
He was a proud member of the
Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians
and was raised in Logsden-Siletz,
where he attended grade school and
high school.
Delbert served in the U.S. Army
from 1957 to I960 and was stationed
in Fort Riley, Kan., and in Germany.
He worked in the timber industry in
both the Siletz area and later in
Springfield, Ore., after moving there in
the late ’60s.
In the late ’70s, he began working
in various jobs for the Confederated
Tribes of Siletz Indians and continued
in that work until going to work for the
State of Oregon Adult and Family
Services in 1987, where he worked
until his retirement in July 2002.
Delbert played football while in high
school and was proud to play softball
for quite a few years on championship
all-lndian teams around the area. He
continued to be an avid sports fan for
his entire life and Delbert especially
rooted for the Oregon Ducks.
Delbert married Karen Nyman in
1980 in Reno, Nev., and they later di­
vorced. He married Sharen Hulegaard
in June of 1990 in Reno.
Delbert died of liver and kidney
failure on Nov. 22, 2006, at Sacred
Heart Hospital in Eugene, Ore., with
his wife, children, nieces, and neph­
ews surrounding his bed.
Delbert is survived by his wife; a
daughter, Sara Bell, and her husband,
Delbert Wayne Bell
David Tellez, of Siletz; a son, Lincoln
Flores, of Eugene; a sister, Clarice
“Babe” McKnight, of Springfield; a
brother-in-law, Chuck Ricks, of Logsden;
three stepsons, Brett Cobb and his wife
Kelly of Salem, Jason Cobb and his
wife Shauna of Warrenton, and Damon
Skogseth of Springfield; six grandchil­
dren; 13 nieces and nephews; 14 great­
nieces and -nephews; and eight great­
great-nieces and -nephews. He was
loved and respected by his family and
friends, and will be missed very much.
A visitation was held at Musgrove
Family Mortuary in Eugene on Nov. 30
from 3-7 p.m. and a wake was held on
Dec. I at the Siletz Tribal Community
Center from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
His funeral was on Dec. 2 at the
Siletz Tribal Community Center, fol­
lowed by a graveside service. He was
buried beside family members at the
Paul Washington Cemetery on Govern­
ment Hill in Siletz.
Butler Places Second in Grappling
Championships

The family of Rusty Butler would
pling Championship in Hillsboro, Ore.,
like to congratulate him on his second-
on Oct. 14, 2006. He finished with one
place win at the Dynamic Full Contact
Submission Grappling Championship
held at Seven Feathers Resort in
Canyonville, Ore., on Nov. 18, 2006.
Rusty won three of his four matches.
He also competed in the Western
Brazilian Jujitsu Submission Grap­

win and one loss. Rusty has been
working hard for the last year, training
to do what he loves.
