LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
To the editor:
I am writing to let you know that the
grounds at the Community Center are
beautiful. I am certain we have the most
beautiful place to meet. It is very warm
and cozy and has an inviting atmosphere.
Lenny Simmons always makes sure
that the leaves and pine needles are
kept away from the doors so that no
one falls. Some of our guests love to
come and walk around before lunch.
They really enjoy it up here.
The inside is always clean and set
up just right for us. We really appreci
ate all that Lenny does for us. Espe
cially this time of year when it looks
wonderful up there.
Thank you and please let Lenny
know how much we appreciate him
and all his work.

To the editor:
Greetings Tribal Members,
My name is Bud Lane. It will soon
be time for Tribal Council elections. I
am announcing my candidacy for one
of the three Tribal Council positions
that will be open for this election.
It has been my pleasure to serve
our membership for the last three years.
There have been many challenges put
before the tribal government in the last
few years. If I am re-elected. I will con
tinue to work for and contribute to the
progress that has been made for our
tribe and our people.
I have great respect for the opin
ions of our membership and will con
tinue to do whatever I can to make life
better for our people today and for all
those future generations yet to come.
I'm asking for your vote and sup
port in the coming election in Febru
ary. I will be attending the Candidates
Fair and hope to see many of you there.
Happy Holidays to you and your
families. ‘Alh-du’,
Alfred “Bud “ Lane III
To the editor:
I wanted to thank my mother, Brenda
Arellano, and my sisters, Gracie,
Mayela, and Maria, for not forgetting
about me and being here this time down.
And to the rest of my family, while
the heart grieves for what it has lost,
the spirit rejoices for what it has left.

Candidate’s Fair
2007 Siletz Tribal Elections
Jan. 13, 2007
To the membership:
I am once again running for a Tribal
Council position.
The past three years have gone by
quickly. The tribe has seen many ac
complishments and I am proud that I
could be part of the team.
I continue to have the commitment,
the interest, time, and years of experi
ence to work on behalf of our tribe. I
appreciate the confidence, faith, and
support that you have given me in past
elections.
Tribes face some very tough chal
lenges in the coming years and it will be
important to have experienced represen
tation to support our tribal goals. I ask
for your support in the coming election.
Thank you!
