All That is Good
Respectively, Eva E. Clayton
Well, fall is in the air and I’ve been
caught trying to button up summer
projects! Probably a bit of procrastina
tion has been standing in the shadows.
I am OK, it’s been a busy summer.
I’ve been running fast, but a few week
end warrior catch-ups and I think I’ll
be ready for winter rainwater.
The sunrise seems to be sleeping
in and wants to go to bed sooner these
days. I don’t know about you, but I need
needed to get his routine down. I agree,
like getting to bed sooner the night before.
Our granddaughter is caught up in
volleyball practice and (eighth-grade)
politics. She’s good, but we remind her
of humbleness and team spirit; she
has both.
The grandboys in Lebanon I drove
to school, a sophomore who was squeaky
clean and looking fine, and our fifth
grader who always finds a kiss and hug
to wring out a few more hours in my day!
Kids are back in school, the neigh
borhood has toned down a bit. What a
flurry, grandkids with a wish list a mile
long. Can’t seem to stretch the old dollar
as far (sorry) as the good ol’ days. I’ll need
to live 10 lives for payback. But I feel it’s
a good thing when family cares and shares.
I asked the Brookings grandkids how
their first day of school went. Grand
son (sophomore) said it was OK, just
for grandma. I hope he never outgrows
my hugs.
Our children must learn respect and
be encouraged to strive toward big
dreams. We as parents and community
need to, I feel, give respect and encour
agement. Iron out a few wobbles to en
sure that our investments have every
chance in which to succeed. Their re
flection our reflection, a mirror of di
rect decendancy to all that is good.
