Student Incentive Program Ready
to Reward Graduates
Summer Jobs Available for Youth
Please contact DeAnna Pearl, JOBS coordinator, to sign up Siletz Tribal high
school youth age 14 to 19 for work during the summer. They will have the
opportunity to get experience in forestry, natural resource management, cultural,
and traditional jobs.
The JOBS program is separate from the Summer Youth Work Experience
program. DeAnna is working closely, however, with the Education Department to
find youth who are interested in working. Jobs range from cutting brush to taking
scientific samples for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Some jobs
include training, an educational component, and school credit.
While job application selection is not dependent on grades and school
attendance, willingness to work and pride in a job well done are. The deadline
for applications is June 15. Some jobs already scheduled include:

Tribal Youth Education Employment
Program Applications Due
Siletz Tribal youth age 14 to 17 are
invited to apply for the 2004 Tribal
Youth Education Employment (TYEE)
Program. This is an opportunity for our

and 18 who resides within the 11-county
service area and is returning to school

Students (except AVT) graduating
from the above in the 2003-2004 school
year are asked to submit a copy of their
graduation certificate, name, and mailing
address to the education specialist in
their area.
AVT students graduating between

incentive and mail the incentive to
