Arts & Crafts Fair Features Tribal
Members and Casino Employees
More than 20 artistically talented
Chinook Winds employees and Siletz
Tribal members will participate in the
Chinook Winds Arts & Crafts Fair
from April 30 through May 2 in the
convention center.
This event is open to all ages and
there is no charge for admission. This
is your chance to purchase handcrafted
items direct from the skilled individuals
who create them.
The booths will feature quilts,
herbal sachets, Native American crafts,
jewelry, glass art, ceramics, and much
more. All of the participating artists are
either a Chinook Winds employee or a
member of the Confederated Tribes of
Siletz Indians of Oregon. There are no
entry or consignment fees to the artists.
This event is intended to showcase the
talents and skills of both groups.
Hours for the Chinook Winds Arts
& Crafts Fair are 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on
April 30, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 1,
and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 2.

Express Menus Continue with
New Entrées
The Express menus at the Rogue
River Room inside Chinook Winds
Casino have brought great meals on
board for the entire month of May.
Once again, fantastic prices on
breakfast, lunch, and dinner make every
day in the month of May delicious.
The five new Express Lunch
specials for May might cause all area
business meetings to be rescheduled for
the lunch hours. Mondays will feature
country fried steak with mashed
potatoes. It’s grilled ham and cheese
with the soup of the day on Tuesdays.
On Wednesdays, diners can enjoy
a delicious tuna melt with coleslaw and
on Thursdays, it’s Caesar salad with
grilled sake salmon. The workweek
finishes on a tasty note with a grilled
halibut sandwich and French fries.
The Lunch Express specials are
available Monday through Friday from
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for just $6.95.
By popular request, the Rogue
River Room Early Bird menu will
continue through May. This specially
priced entrée of succulent prime rib will
be available Monday through Friday
from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for $10.95. This
includes choice of soup or salad.
The Breakfast Express Special gets
the workday started off right throughout
May. It includes two eggs any style, two
sausage, two strips of bacon, hash
browns, and a choice of biscuit or toast
for $2.95. This amazing deal is avail-
able Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.
to 9 a.m. in the Rogue River Room.

Vino on the Coast Benefits Komen
Breast Cancer Foundation
The first annual Vino on the Coast,
a wine tasting event benefiting the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foun
dation, will be held May 8 from 5 p.m.
to 9 p.m. at Chinook Winds Casino &
Convention Center.
Tickets are $35 in advance and $50
at the door. The tax-deductible ticket
includes a commemorative wine glass,
wine tastings from numerous Oregon
wineries, and complimenting delectable
hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Proceeds
from ticket sales and a silent auction
will be donated to the Komen Foundation.
Tickets are available at the Chinook
Winds box office.
Oregon wines grow more and more
popular as wine lovers throughout the
world discover what Oregonians have
known all along - the region’s wines
deserve consideration. Wineries
scheduled to participate include Argyle
Winery, Erath Vineyards, Coleman Vine
yards, Amity Vineyards, Willamette
Valley Vineyards, Stag Hollow Wines
and Vineyards, Cooper Mountain
Oregon Ironman Naturally Returns
to Chinook Winds
Oregon Ironman Naturally, the
largest bodybuilding, fitness, and
figure championships in the state,
will be held at Chinook Winds
Casino & Convention Center
on May 21-22.
Because of its growing
popularity, the Women’s Fit
ness & Figure Championship
will be held on its own night
- May 21. Categories
of competition include
Women’s Fitness and
Women’s Figure.
Along with four height
divisions and an Over 35 Figure
category, a new group has been
added - Collegiate Figure. This division
is open to all those currently enrolled
as an Oregon college student.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and competi
tion begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15
for general admission and $20 for
reserved seating.
On May 22, the
Men's and Women’s
Bodybuilding
Championships will
present bodybuilders of
all ages and all levels,
from a teen-age class to
women’s and men’s
masters. The prejudging
portion will start at 10 a.m.
and tickets are $15. The
evening finals are at 7 p.m.,
with doors opening at 6 p.m.
Reserved seating is available
for $25 and $30.

journey. To assist those wanting to learn
more, sommelier Harry Ryan of
VINworks, certified by the Court of
Master Sommeliers and a member of
the Society of Wine Educators, Oregon
Wine Growers Association and the
Tasters Guild, will be on hand to teach
and discuss wine. Ryan has been a wine
judge for the Sommelier Society of
America, the McMinnville Wine and
Food Classic, and the Portland Wine
and Art Festival.
The mission of the Susan G. Komen
Breast Cancer Foundation is to
eradicate breast cancer as a life
threatening disease by advancing
research, education, screening, and
treatment. Breast cancer is the leading
cause of cancer death in women
between the ages of 40 and 59. The
Oregon and SW Washington affiliate of
the foundation was founded in 1991.
Neville Brothers
Bring Big Easy
Sound
The Neville Brothers - Aaron, Art,
Charles, and Cyril - will bring the Big
Easy sound to the Oregon coast when
they perform at Chinook Winds Casino
on May 7-8.
For well over a quarter of a century,
The Neville Brothers have helped lay
the foundation for the entire New Orleans
music community and at the same time
spread their own unique sound all over
the world. They’ve sold millions of
records worldwide and have gold and
platinum records in six different countries.
Their Mardi Gras Mambo has
become the annual carnival’s unofficial
anthem, while fan favorites such as
Mona Lisa and Ten Commandments of
Love are perennial crowd pleasers. The
brothers’ superb renditions of Iko Iko
and Brother John make the songs a near
impossible feat for other groups.
Tickets range from $20 to $35.
