It’s Happening at Chinook Winds in April ...
Body Slam in the Sand Features
Foley, Bagwell, and Steiner
Wrestling at Chinook Winds
Casino is getting bigger and better. The
next Body Slam in the Sand - on April 9
- will include a special appearance by
wrestling megastar Mick Foley.
The event also will pit legend
against legend when Rick Steiner and
Buff Bagwell go head to head. The
match should bring back memories for
Bagwell. In 1998, he suffered a bad
neck injury while wrestling Steiner.
In professional wrestling, the name
Mick Foley has earned respect, admira
tion, and awe. His raw star power has
attracted legions of fans around the world.
His prowess in the ring and
immense entertaining talents were
featured in the wrestling documentary
Beyond the Mat. The Body Slam in the
Sand audience will witness firsthand the
spectacle of this special guest referee
and champion wrestling legend.
Beware of this dog! Steiner, known
as the “Dog-Faced Gremlin,” attacks
opponents with amazing ferocity.
Along with brother Scott, the Steiner
Brothers were one the best tag teams
in wrestling history with five world titles.
Steiner also won major tag team
titles in the U.S. and Japan. When he
went solo, he amassed three WCW
Television titles and one WCW
U.S. Championship.
As WCW Rookie of the Year,
Bagwell started his career strong. His
impressive resume includes four WCW
World Tag Team titles and a boxing
match against Rowdy Roddy Piper,
with Judge Mills Lane as guest referee.
Bagwell combines a unique blend
of power and quickness when
delivering his signature move, the
Buff Blockbuster.
Body Slam in the Sand starts at
7 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are
$10 and $20. This is an all-ages
event. For more information, visit

Stage and Screen Comedians Join
Comedy on the Coast
Each month, Chinook Winds
Casino’s Comedy on the Coast brings
comics known for their stand-up as well
as their work on television and the big
screen. April is no exception.
On April 10, the show’s headliner
will be Michael Pace, with Bob Kubota
as the featured comedian and Shayma
Tash as host.
Pace’s facial expressions and punch
lines have been compared to Silly Putty
and Sunday comic strips. So it’s no
surprise that he’s had audiences across
the country laughing in the aisles at
The Improv, The Icehouse, and the
Comedy Store. Most recently, he can
be seen on HBO’s award-winning series
Curb Your Enthusiasm.
This Emmy award nominee (for his
work as host on Comic Relief) is hilarious
enough to have opened for top-name
comedians, including Jerry Seinfeld,
Ellen Degeneres, and Drew Carey,
making him a comedian’s comedian.
Kubota doesn’t just do comedy
mixed with magic. He isn’t interested
in pulling rabbits out of a hat, sawing
assistants in half, or making Lear jets
disappear. He’d rather take small,

everyday items (playing cards, coins
and dollars, jewelry, or rubber bands)
and, right under a person’s nose in plain
sight, perform sleight of hand that is
beyond belief.
Kubota has been seen on Evening
at the Improv (A&E), Make Me Laugh
(Comedy Central), Stand-Up Spotlight
(VH1), and MTV’s Comedy Hour, and
has performed extensively throughout
the world with USO Armed Forces Tours.
Tash got her comic start where
many comedy success stories start, at
the infamous Hollywood comedy
troupe Groundlings. Many will
recognize her from The Best Damn
Sports Show Period or the outrageous
WB comedy sketch show HYPE.
From Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show
to Comedy Central’s The Sweet
Spot, Tash’s honest and insightful
observations, amazing impressions, and
original characters make her an
audience favorite.
Two shows will take place, at 7 p.m.
and 10 p.m. Doors will open one half
hour before each show. A no-host bar
will be available. Show tickets, priced
at $12, are available at the box office.
