Lorange Named Third Quarter Superstar J
Dixie Lorange from the Security
Department, who also is an EMT, was
selected as the casino’s Superstar for
the third quarter of 2003.
Tribal elders, members of the
Gaming Council, the Siletz Tribal
Gaming Regulatory Agency, Chinook
Winds directors, and several casino staff
members were present at the Superstar
ceremony on Oct. 30. In recognition of
her achievement, Dixie was presented
with a check for $1,000, a plaque, and
a marble tile with her name engraved
on it that will be displayed at the front
of the casino.
To be eligible to receive the
Superstar award, an employee must
perform his/her duties at a high standard
of excellence on a consistent basis.
He/she must exhibit above-the-norm
internal and external customer service
and be a team leader by example.
Instances of exemplary performance
must be documented.
After a person is nominated for the
award, the nomination goes through
several reviews before the final
selection is made. Both casino staff and
casino guests can submit Superstar
nominations. With more than 700
employees and only four of these
awards given each year, it’s a real honor
to be chosen as the Superstar.
Dixie was nominated by a guest
who wrote, Tm writing to thank you
for saving my life. 1 have no doubt your
professionalism and compassion are the
reasons 1 am here to write this note.

Bingo Food/Toy Drive Continues
For the past several years, the
Bingo Department has collected
enormous amounts of food and toys for
various worthy causes at Christmas.
This year's donations will go to the
Nc )rth Lincoln Eagles and Elks Lodges,
Ä
which are requesting stocking stuffers
for their Christmas baskets.
The holiday food and toy drive
began Nov. 1. Participants receive one
ticket per donation for a $300 drawing
to be held Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.
