Not Only Waves Break on the Coast
When watching the Women’s
Professional Billiards Players (WPBA)
on ESPN, you can see their competitive
ness, talent, and skills. The nation’s top
64 female 9-ball players will compete
at Chinook Winds on Nov. 19-23. This
is your chance to see these masters of
the game live and in-person.
Allison Fisher currently is the
No. 1-ranked female billiards player in
America. She isn’t called the “Duchess
of Doom’’ for nothing.
After winning her first world-class
competition at 17, Fisher moved to the
U.S. from her hometown of Peach-
haven, England, to pursue the WPBA’s
9-Ball tour. She won the second
tournament she ever played in and in
seven years has won more 9-Ball
tournaments than all the other
professionals combined. Like Gretzky,
Woods, Jordan, and other sports greats,
she makes the impossible look easy and
the difficult routine.
You may have seen her on ESPN.
She wears all black when playing and
has been said to “devour” her
opponents. When you watch Jeanette
Lee in person, it’s easy to see how her
nickname, “Black Widow,” fits.

Girlfriends - Men of Paradise Return
The male Polynesian dancers of
Runi Tafeaga’s “Men of Paradise” are
set to perform at Chinook Winds Casino
on Nov. 7. The “Men of Paradise” are
from Tahiti, Samoa, and Hawaii.
Several of them were featured on
Baywatch Hawaii.
The “Men of Paradise” will
perform in the convention center for
two shows on one night only. Doors
open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show
and at 9:30 p.m. for the 10 p.m. show.
Tickets are $10. A no-host bar will
be available and the shows are limited
to individuals age 21 and over.

Meet Soap Star Louise Sorel and
Assorted Characters

star Louise Sorel on Nov. 13-16 at
Chinook Winds Casino!
If you’re a soap opera fan, chances
are you’ve seen Sorel in more than one
of your favorite series. Currently, she
portrays Judge Kay Campobello on All
My Children. Her previous rolls include
Augusta Lockridge on Santa Barbara
and Judith Sanders on One Life to Live.
Her prime-time television credits
include Knots Landing, Star Trek,
Bonanza, Ladies' Man, Sunset
Limousine, and Zorro.

Plaza Suite, Airplane II, Where The
Boys Are,” Every Little Crook and
Nanny, PS. I Love You, and Ken
Russell’s Crimes of Passion. She has
starred in numerous Broadway

Here I Come, Man & Boy, Take Her,
She’s Mine, The Dragon, Lorenzo, and
The Sign in Sydney Brustein’s Window.
In addition, Cleopatra, King Tut, a
train conductor, and an Eskimo girl will
meet and greet Chinook Winds’ guests.

She’s one of the most recognized
pool players in the world (ranked No. 4)
and her precision at the table is truly
something to behold. Lee started
playing pool in 1992 and in less than
two years was ranked No. 1.
Ewa Laurance isn’t just the ninth
best female pool player in the world,
she’s also the current WPBA president
and has just written her third book on
the subject.
She started playing billiards when
she was 14 in her native town of Gayle,
Sweden. At 17, she won the European
Salute to
Veterans with
Free Shows
Stars and Stripes Forever, two free
concerts honoring veterans of the U.S.
Armed Forces, will be held at Chinook
Winds Casino on Veterans’ Day, Nov. 11.
Get ready for a stirring tribute to those
who have dedicated themselves to
defend our country and the freedom we
cherish, and fought so that others could
be free from tyranny.
Cake will be available in the lobby
prior to the shows. Showroom doors
open at 3:30 p.m. for the 4 p.m. concert
and 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. concert.
The Siletz Tribal Honor Guard will
open the show with the presentation of
the colors, followed by entertainment
provided by the The Keller Coker
Orchestra, with vocalists Mike Bartie,
Bill Montague, and Jakki Ford.
The shows include a tribute to the
Andrews Sisters and actor Tom Hallick
will give a reading that he originally
performed with Charleton Heston at
President Ronald Reagan’s inauguration.
Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin
Brothers have contributed a video
featuring the patriotic song Stand Up
And Thank Them Now, which Larry
Gatlin says is a tribute to his veteran
father and to all people who have served
in the armed forces. Paul Revere and
The Raiders also have given a video
presentation to be played. The Kells
Bagpipers, a 12-piece pipe and drum
corps, will close the concerts.
The shows are open to all ages.
No tickets are required, it’s first-come,
first-seated.

On Nov. 19 at 6 p.m., the Celebrity
Pro-Am Shootout will benefit My
Sister’s Place, a local women’s shelter.
Celebrities include David Naughton,
Andrew Prine, and John Ashton, plus
WPBA stars.
Tickets range from $5 to $25. An
all-day pass for the finals on Nov. 23 is
available for $50. Discounts will be
given to APA and BCA cardholders.
Comedy Duo of
Williams & Ree
Returns
Chinook Winds Casino is pleased
to welcome back the audacious comedy
team of Williams & Ree, also known
as “the Indian and the White Guy,” for
two performances on Nov. 14-15.
They’re not bigoted — they make fun
of everyone!
Williams & Ree have performed
together for more than 25 years. During
that time, they have shared stages with
such superstars as Garth Brooks, The
Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, and
Randy Travis.
They’ve worked as regulars on Hee
Haw, appeared as regular guest stars on
Country Kitchen with Florence
Henderson, hosted LAFF TV with
WILLIAMS & REE, and co-hosted The
Charlie Daniels Talent Roundup.
Their show is a lively, fast-paced
mixture of comedy bits, social/political
commentary, and racial zings
intertwined with original songs. Not
limited to comedy, Williams & Ree
were nominated for Best Vocal Duo by
the Country Music Association in 1995.
Go beyond the chuckle and right
into a belly laugh with the outrageous
